I would have to agree with you. I am excited about the other two TSW 4 routes but I'm disappointed about the Peterborough to Doncaster. I would have liked it to start from London king's cross to Leeds and York with the addition of Hull trains and playable class 700 and 387 services then It will be my UK route and I'll be happy. Peterborough to Doncaster is such a missed opportunity. I also hope Dovetail games make a East Coast Commuter London Kings Cross to Petersborough and Cambridge with the addition of the Northern City Line with Great Northern and Thameslink!!!
Can someone answer this for me would be appreciated, but every TSW release from the beginning up to 3 I've brought the new version when it comes out on a new platform as I have switched a few times over the years. And I know you can't transfer your dlc's from one platform to another which I am fine with and that's why I have re-bought a couple when I would buy the new version of the game. But my question is, with all my dlc's I have got on my current platform on TSW3, and I buy TSW4 (on the same platform and account), will my dlc's still go over to TSW4 or would I need to re-buy them again (which I will not be doing if so).
You do know that Peterborough to Doncaster is 80 miles, right? Extending it down to London as well as including Leeds and York is a tad too much. The York bit, maybe not as it would make sense, (or even the Lincoln leg).
My guess as to why they made Peterborough to Doncaster is because it was the easiest part of the ecml to make even though DTG won't admit that. The benefit of the route going or starting from London would be the variety with trains such as the 387, 700 and 717. Heck the Northern City Line couldve been a line made for the 717. As it stands, it's just one passenger train and one freight train with little variety
I'm just hoping that it opens up possibilities for branches from Doncaster and Peterborough. Northern City Line would have been a good idea. They would only need one train as we already have the rest.
All the TSW3 DLC in that platform and account will be ported to TSW4 when you purchase it at no additional cost.
My guess is, they made the part of the line most interesting for the Azuma and the Flying Scotsman, since those are the point of the route. Kings Cross to Peterborough would have been extremely boring for the Azuma, basically just A-B.
Thank you. I did research it a couple of hours after I posted that but I did find the answer but I really appreciate the answer thank you
I think TSW 4 will actually be good I'm actually quite excited and probably mostly be driving class 801 most of the time I go on these train a lot at Darlington and finally we get to see them.
Just like when TSW2 came out, and last year with TSW3 so it's nothing new to them or me. Its just a video game life will go on. (Not directed at you specifically just everyone in general, both sides after it's released)
The only thing that we can do is to show your discontent and not buying the game on the release, but to wait for a sale. IMHO I believe that they should have prolonged the life of tsw3 at least one year more, the base was quite good. But to be honest I will not preordered it for that reason but for excluding the PS users without PS plus subscription (like myself) from the benefits of the discount preorders.
I said sometime ago that I remember JD and Jamie doing a stream from the East Lancashire Railway and now see from the latest Dev Diary that they visited the railway for filming the Flying Scotsman, perhaps the route may also come one day.
