Train Sim World 2 Preservation Crew Content
We are sorry to say that, at this stage, we will not be releasing these updates to Train Sim World 2. It is a really tough decision to make, and we’ve not taken it lightly – but it has become apparent, that, whilst we’ve always intended to release the content, for a number of technical reasons, it is causing more issues than it resolves with the way the builds now work.
Rather than have good intentions but no substance (or worse – a scenario that means your game can’t be played how you currently play it), we believe you deserve something concrete.

There are many factors at play here: among other things, various unforeseen technical hurdles have hit when putting builds together which jeopardised content players were already playing. We also want to focus on ensuring Train Sim World 4 is as good as we can make it for you all. We’ve always remained hopeful these improvements would be released, but sadly it’s become apparent that it’s not possible at this stage. We’re extremely sorry it has taken this long to come to this conclusion.

For Train Sim World 4, we’re making it very clear what you can and can’t expect from the remaining Train Sim World 3 game updates, and we hope you can accept our apology.

    TSW3 and TSW4 Patch Schedule
In yesterday’s Roadmap article, we spoke about the Day 1 content you can expect from Train Sim World 4. Today, we wanted to provide more detail on the future content TSW3 players can expect from us.

Please note that everything in the TSW3 column will also be available on Day 1 for TSW4. Our intention is to release for TSW3 patches as soon as we can.

More details about the content of the patches will be confirmed upon release.

We are sorry to say that, at this stage, we will not be releasing these updates to Train Sim World 2.

    Ahaha.

it is causing more issues than it resolves with the way the builds now work.

This is why you fix / finish your current game before releasing the next one.

I thought they said in the presentation that scoring would be updated on old routes. But it won't.

"Since this is a new scoring system it has to be applied to content specifically so we will be using it on TSW4 content from now on. Older content will still use the original scoring system."

Yes, it was a rail vehicle change to fix the door interlock issue, so it will work everywhere now :)

Will the stream go into more details?

Ever heard of "if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it?"
Old software can't be supported forever.

Ever heard of freedom of speech and expression? It's not like I'm breaking any rules.

It's clear they lied to their customers

When I hear comments like that, it reminds me of dictatorships

Before I even read the roadmap I have a question/request for the stream:
Can you play the trailer either at the beginning or end of the stream as it is the best one you have made yet and would be nice to see that masterpiece of graphics mixed with Depeche Mode's greatest piece of music again. I suppose you could say I just can't get enough of it. ;)

Oh my, between the two parts of this article, there's too much information for my old brain to absorb. I'll have to eat this meal in small bites. Fortunately, there's a whole month in which to digest it.

    Where's the Gaviscon?

Whenever we get to make a visit to a depot, we will record and photograph everything, i mean, EVERYTHING, we can get our hands on with permission and usually depot managers and staff are more than happy to accomodate. We got TONS of reference. We still have tons from the Washington trip too.

Doesn't mean any of this is coming any time, but having the reference is no harm.

Set your expectations to "if its not on the roadmap".

    Matt.

Yeah, they didn't take an expensive trip out to the Golden State just for Metrolink, it would seem.

Ok, that sounds like greater transparency but it isn't. Apparently you can come up with a specific release date for TSW4 but not for the remaining TSW3 updates. That sounds like you're just dragging your feet and feels more like an optional side project that may or may not get done.

Forget about TSW3, what can we expect from TSW4. How long will you be providing game updates and when will you stop supporting it before people will have to buy into a new version. How about some real transparency for once.

I was pleased to read this in the roadmap:
'(and that’s why we have now added a Setting option to turn OFF the score display)'

Looking forward to the stream actually and will be able to comment on the Youtube as I have been given some free time and had that account set up for the Direct stream.

Just because you have the "freedom" to say something, still doesn't mean you should. Especially if its a baseless accusations, like a company lying.

DTG "We are working to get the tsw2 updates released after the release of tsw 3. We are waiting for approiate slots to release the updates"

When they don't do what they said, how is that not lying?

Well, let's be honest, we all knew this was coming sooner or later. I guess I'm just glad they're patching NYT and the Baby Bullet. Pity about Oakville, though, so much potential.

Not sure I totally believe the explanation, sounds a bit like dissembling to me. And they should never have peddled that nonsense about " waiting for a release window ".

But I'll live with it. It's a business after all. My life is more than train simming.

They "ARE WORKING", they worked to get them released.
And as per the post, they WORKED on it, the work proved too illogical to complete without causing major issues with later variants of the code.
They never promised they'd make it to the final build.

lying/gaslighting take your pick, it is a pattern though and that is the sad thing and why I can't really accept the apology, I really have no confidence it won't happen again.

They also said that the updates were ready but they were waiting for a release slot. That clearly wasn't true so again why do you think they didn't lie. Doesn't matter the reason. They still lied

Agreed. It’s shameful. They’ve been stalling us all this time. Again. I’m glad I’ve waited with investing in TSW3. Never got any DLC for that game. Because I was waiting to finally finish TSW2. No way I’m jumping on TSW4 train.

    It could be "never", right?
When October rolls, they will say things like:
The November roadmap might contain a small section stating:
And by the new year, it will not even be mentioned anymore, as they will be busy with fixes for TSW4 content.
I don't know why I have this strange feeling of déjà vu. Did somebody tweak The Matrix?!

Just wanted to say I’ve been watching the roadmap and the images of the upcoming routes have got some very stunning scenery, it also appears the draw distance either looks or has been extended. Very nice work being done, looks very realistic and the mountain scenery has particularly come a long way.

jaw distance :D yeah the screenshots are nice and I've a feeling volumetric fog is a big upgrade to the visuals, possibly at night too. The kicker will be what the infamous Dresden night lighting looks like now.

No one expects software to be supported forever. Just for the life of the software. People who bought TSW2 DLC in good faith (and, going forward, TSW3) have a right to expect bugs and game breaking issues to be fixed ASAP. I seem to remember them saying they’ve fixed a load of stuff for TSW2 and are just waiting for a release slot. It seems that they have given up waiting.

The kicker could also be how these features will impact performance.
If my XSX stutters on most TSW3 routes, how will it cope with volumetric fog and increased "jaw distances"?

yes this was in the first roadmap article, stop markers for 700 on SEHS will be available on release of TSW4, as long as you buy TSW4.
