I’d love to see a Class 70 show up in modern routes:

They’re so ugly that they’re brilliant! Would make a nice change seeing them coming from the other direction on freight, rather than “oh look, it’s another shed!”

I do love the 66, but there’s some variety needed when it comes to UK freight. Some modern freight services where you do more than just drive A to B would be nice too, some loading/unloading tasks for example.

Class 70 should have both freightliner and colas Rail livery as well!

    Class 56
    Class 70
    Class 67
Would be what I want to see.

Class 88 in DRS livery (licence required) ideally with the 'Tescoliner' (licenced or brandless) refrigerated containers. EWS/DB Class 60's are still very common around the midlands and the north too.

My biggest TSW gripe is the lack of modern UK freight. Only ONE freight loco is staggering at this point. Intermodal freight in the UK has doubled in the last decade and is expected to triple before 2030 as its now the most CO2 and cost efficient means of goods hauling. DTG pretend it doesn't exist.

For the WCML, the Trent Valley line section would be best if it included the Daventry DRS/Tesco terminal (DIRFTII) near Rugby. They are operating new regular routes on the East Coast Mainline now too....

Would definitely like to see the class 68 (or 88), and the class 60. I agree it's surprising the 66 is still the only modern UK freight loco we have.

Would just like to see a route come.with a freight mover that ISN'T a bloody 66! We currently have 4 different versions in game (5 once ECML lands) and it's getting boring seeing the same freight loco on every modern route! We hardly have freight up here on the DCL but we see a fair few 60's running GBRf runs!

Thanks for starting this thread. The absence of UK freight is a yawning gap in TSW. I enjoyed it in TSC. I assume the omission is a reflection of the overwhelming demand for speedy, colorful electro-plastic joystick passenger trains ( one reason I'm not blown away by the new ECML route and train ).

Please yes, I'm sick of having the 66 included in every route. Want some more variety.

We are sometimes lucky to even get a 66 or an RHTT service at best. :(

Bring them on to the game and if you have problems using it over neutral sections check train simulator classic forums on how to deal with them. That belongs to GEML WCML alongside the Class 90

Even more operators would be a nice change. Every 66 being a 66/0 in EWS livery gets old fast. Freightliner, GBRf & DRS all have very active 66 fleets, not forgetting Colas' few as well.

    Class 58, 59, 60, 67, 68, 69 and 70 plus Class 90 and 92 would be my choice.

Here’s one dragging a 37 back to Cardiff after it failed near Exeter.

Beautiful, you can almost hear that photo. I do have very fond memories of the 56s, very powerful, noisy things.

If we got one of these I'd imagine it'd be for the MML likely given we have the Nottingham depot which I cannot rembember the name of to save my life, Oh wait... Eastcroft? I think its that.

Anyway it could include the: 37, 56 and 70 in Colas Rail adding more freight to the route that isnt at the dead of night If I remember correctly.

Sign me up for modern U.K. freight trains, it’s definitely noticeable how we have only the class 66.

The 67 I’ve always found to be one I would want to pickup.

Im not sure really on areas any potential class can run currently though, but I’m hoping substitution on routes already out will be on that list.

Tbh I'd take even a livery pack for the 66 at this point. The fact we're only seeing EWS and DB over and over again is really quite disappointing.

Yes the ECML route will be strange without any GBRF 66s about.

It's not just a case of changing liveries.

Team blue and team green have different headlight and buffer beam configurations than the EWS/DB class 66s.

It would require an external model rebuild also. Going with GBRf would open up alot of special livery options however.
