Has any details been released about how many timetable services the Flying Scotsman will have on Doncaster - Peterborough? and same for the Railpool train, has it been revealed how many of those are in the new Austrian route timetable? I know it's released primarily for Dresden but it will layer into Vorarlberg too, so i'm curious how many services will actually be present with it in Austria. i'm undecided whether to buy Standard or Deluxe, and i think some more knowledge of the layers and service numbers, especially on ECML and Austria, could help me decide. I almost exclusively play timetable mode only (i don't use scenario planner for example) so the number of services and layers in timetable mode, along with the number of ai services available, are what i look for in a route. finally i'm on gen 8/ps4 pro.. so that may affect ai layers that are available too thanks!
that's interesting.. i'm not gonna lie i know very little about german railways (i know a little about austrian and öbb but mostly in the east of the country and not the west) i'm very interested in Vorarlberg as the scenery looks really nice so far, and if the Vectron layers in it would add variety to the services, it would of course be nice to know just how many Vectron services will be on Vorarlberg before commiting though.
Well it that case https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...ust-22nd-to-september-26th.72570/#post-701915 maybe wait an few more days
good point thanks! i'm also undecided on standard or deluxe with the ECML as i'm 100% interested in the route and the class 801, but i'm not interested in driving the Flying Scotsman.. i don't mind seeing it as AI (which is why i hope to know how many AI services there will be) but i can happily do without the steam traction for ECML personally
I would recommend waiting until the preview streams and then making your decision. The included number of services is surely going to be presented there. You can also get a better view of the content "in action" and not on carefully curated marketing material.
End of the day it's your choice. Standard is just the three routes and the Nahverkehr- Dresden update ( if you own the route). Delux Version has the three routes plus Nahverkehr-Dresden (if you don't own it) Flying Scotsman and the 193 plus 5 days early access (play 21st instead of 26th) While the Scotsman and 193 will be available in October separately you're going to be looking at another £26 on top of the standard price so logically if you want the locos you're better off getting the delux version (even if you own Nahverkehr-Dresden) because you're looking at nearly £150 worth of content for just over £40!
Thanks everyone! I think i'll go with the deluxe edition as it will hopefully give more services to the Austrian route, plus there's the 5 days early feature too. And while i'm not interested in driving the flying scotsman it might be interesting to see it as AI occasionally too i do wish the ECML stream wasn't just one day before the early release date, it would be much better to have this stream a week or so earlier!
Deluxe or Special edition is the question for me. The only two routes I don't have in the whole TSW franchise is Linke Rheinstrecke and Niddertalbahn. I was hoping for a good sale on either of those. The special edition includes Linke Rheinstrecke. The price increase for TSW4 deluxe to TSW4 special would give me a 25% discount to what I would pay full price for Linke Rheinstrecke. So my question is if that is worth it. After TS4 releases, there will be at some point, a sale for legacy TSW routes. But at what % off is unknown.
I went for Deluxe as I want all three routes plus FS. I need Linke Rheinstrecke but will be waiting for the next sale as it will probably be at least 40% off.
I'm thinking Deluxe too.. i also don't currently own Dresden-Riesa, so i'll get that included, although i don't currently play German routes but maybe now i should try this one. I know almost nothing about how German railways work, and for Dresden-Riesa i don't know what layers are available either. but overall deluxe is worth it for me i think to get the Vectron knowing it layers onto the new Austria route, and the 5 day early access is a nice bonus too
Thanks. Very useful analysis. Since I don’t have Nahverkehr-Dresden the Deluxe will make the best value for me. Obv it comes with the Centenary Steam engine, which I have no interest in driving, but will make great entertainment as AI. Thanks for the great summary
I just want the base routes and the Vectron so i was looking at buying the Vectron later. But with the loyalty discount the deluxe edition is the same price as buying the standard edition + the Vectron in october. So i'm going for the deluxe for the first time.
German routes are great and the layering is probably the best in the whole game! The only German loco available the doesn't layer in on other routes is the 204. Every other unit and loco will layer in and be seen on just about every other route except Rapid Transit which is the most boring German route available! (Unfortunately you need RT to use the DB BR 182) For me the only real issue with the German routes is for the routes that are linked by end points e.g. two of them have Hagen yard as an end point! For those routes DTG haven't done the work to link the timetables so you can start a run on one route and switch to the other route to finish the run
sounds good thanks! I think i need to give the german side of the game a try, and seeing as Dresden-Riesa will be included here it seems like a good time to try.. i need to learn the signalling systems as i haven't experienced those yet, but hopefully one i understand them it will be enjoyable to drive!
If you have it give Kassel Wirzburg a try. There's a tutorial for LZB on there which is the second easiest of the safety systems. SIFA is the easiest (if a bit annoying) as it's just hitting the button about every 30 seconds or so to let the train know you're still conscious and in control. LZB basically let's the train drive itself on lines that are equipped with it and the hardest one PZB is a bit more involved but there is a video done by Matt that explains basically how it works and how to understand the signals!
