My goal of this suggestion is to introduce a route that in my opinion, is one of the most enjoyable routes in the UK STATIONS: London Euston, Watford Junction, Northampton, Rugby, Coventry, Nuneaton, Birmingham International, Tamworth, Birmingham New Street. ROLLING STOCK: Class 390 Class 220 Class 350 Class 66 Conclusion To end this route suggestion, I'll explain in further detail. I think this would be a good route to introduce (as a DLC) because It's a fun and scenic part of the WCML. The reason I've suggested WCML south is because the whole WCML would be a lot to develop especially for one DLC. This route would be quite difficult to make but in the end it would be all worth it. When I say DLC, I mean put all the rolling stock and route in one pack. Thank you for reading this suggestion and I hope to see this implemented one day in the future.
There is 42 stations in general, doubt DTG are bothered enough to model it, I would kill for this route to be in TSW
It's not a case of DTG being bothered to do it, it's a case of with current route building techniques it would take far too long to build. Take Ecml for example, they said the reason why they didn't make the King's Cross - Peterborough section is that it would've likely been twice as difficult to develop then Bml was.
I mean you can surely justify the business case for it being built no ? A popular highly requested route, with loads of rolling stock, A WCML would probably sell like hot cakes, it doesn’t really matter which is why i don’t understand the argument of costs, when if it gets released, the sheer sales will more than make up for the development cost ? I might be wrong
Many of the routes we have already sell like hot cakes. The cost of building a route as big and complex as London Euston - Birmingham New Street will likely be Astronomical, not to mention that the dev time would mean that several other route projects would have to be either put on hold or canned altogether which would mean that Dtg wouldn't get any of the necessary revenue from those dlc's. Now don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this route in Tsw as well but right now from a business perspective, it just isn't possible.
But DTG is a multi employee company? I mean it doesn’t necessarily have to be mid game dlc it can be base game dlc for TSW5 as that could come next year? Don’t DTG assign teams to work on different things? I mean yeah it would take time fair enough, but DTG would make up the time from the proftability of the route, and also, if you give the devs enough time, they can work on the project for long enough while also tending to other things? The development of the route doesn’t necessarily have to be a priority. On the other hand I can see a valid argument in difficulty of building the route due to its sheer complexity, but couldn’t it be taken on as a longer term lower priority project?
I counted 29 new stations, if you dont include the northampton loop or the branch line to st albans abbey. bakerloo line stations from Queens park to Harrow and wealdstone already exist so i didn't count them either. still probably wont happen though sadly
It won’t, but DTG will still have to model those stations as they are essential to the route, unless they chose to merge bakerloo line into the route
They just turned down the opportunity to make King's Cross to Peterborough because it was too complex, which is a simpler route in comparison to a WCML South. So very unlikely we will see this particular route anytime soon for TSW unfortunately.
Not really a fair comment to make. They probably are bothered, but technically speaking there are other parts of said route that would better cater to our 'needs', their LAMP requirement and technical dev times e.t.c. There's other parts of the UK than London termini, why not Carlisle to Glasgow for exampe? Or whatever the Overshap TSC route was? (Never played it, just heard it thrown around). The issue with routes being set around london, is regardless of the direction they go, they'll just be gameplay clones of BML or GWE but with different trains. One fast train with few stops or one slow train but with more than enough stops to make me want to cry. At least with nothern parts of a route, one can have the fast services OR the stopping services but with decent runs between.
