If by invested you mean you've put money into the stocks and shares of the company and provided them with the financial means to build the company then I would suggest at the next stockholders meeting or AGM you air your grievances.
If by invested you mean you've bought a product then you haven't invested at all, you've bought a product and therefore your opinion means the same as everyone else's here.

Whilst not agreeing that DTG's model is necessarily a good one I can see that they have been consistent in their operating practices and anyone who believes anything they say as "we are working on this" is probably self delusional. Unfortunately time only moves in one direction and people really need to get the fact that companies do not have an onus to keep old versions of software going and the timeframe they continue to do so is ever decreasing. It sucks, but it is what it is

I really don't think cowboys are morally corrupt. Why, some of my best friends come from the Old West and they've got pretty high standards.

People keep buying the 'new' numbered entries every year so nothing will ever change.

I skipped TSW3 as I didn't think there was anything there to justify a new game, saw the news of TSW4 so came to check it out and it is literally the same game... again.

I assume the preview stream was on PC so if that is what stutters look like on high end PC then god knows what it will run like on a PS5.

I don't believe Dovetail are but I honestly believe their is a number of followers who believe that free speech is only for those who have something positive to say. Ah, another OP that has forgotten that when trying to evoke the winds of change you need to have it behind you, because taking a leak into it just covers you in your own piss, and makes you look like a complete deranged ranting imbecile.......

 

The OP's negative emotion and dissatisfaction with regards to DTG and TSW have been echoed again and again with the last couple of paywall versions. Rather than jump on the person's back and calling them childish, perhaps have a bit of sympathy for somebody who rightfully feels cheated out of what DTG themselves said was coming month after month after month. It's not ben's fault that he feels this way. The onus lies with the company that chooses this course of action. And sorry ben, do realize that your frustrations will fall on deaf ears. This isn't a company big on personal pride, business ethics, or brand reputation. So you either pay into their business model and keep it going, or you turn away and find a different hobby. It's the sad reality of dealing with this company. A fun game with a poor organization being custodians of it.

 

Well I'm never going to have sympathy for anyone buying a product, because they bought it because they wanted it, knowing all the risks that go with that act of buying said product......

 

Nobody minds someone expressing his dissatisfaction and frustration with the product or even the company that makes it. Lots of us do that.

What many of us find fault with is the language he used. Calling a group of coders and developers who go to work everyday just like you and me and put out their best effort a " bunch of morally corrupt cowboys " is a cheap shot and unacceptable.

 

I can understand OPs frustration but sadly since this is the only thing we can get we are kind of forced to swallow it or LOVEk off. There aren’t any decent competitors due to the hobby being extremely niche in nature.

But to just hurl insults doesn’t help the situation, at the end of the day you gain nothing from it because it doesn’t benefit anyone, you can voice your frustration constructively

 

My opinion on Many routes/trains is yea they are good but most of there routes/DLCS have been full of bugs and what people are saying is, fix the bugs in TSW 3 then release TSW 4 because there is still a lot of bugs in TSW 3 and there's some what aren't even gonna be in the day 1 fix patches for TSW 4 and I'm sick of waiting a couple of days, months years? And then they will be a fix but it shouldn't be like that for the routes/DLCS what have been full of bugs like do they quality check these routes? Like just look at MML that was not quality checked. And they need to stop releasing a game every year new EA coming soon. I understand that they need to make money but they can make money with a DLC summer release like "rush hour" and all the "new features" could have been a payed update or a free update.
That's my opinion.

I agree. Maybe I misread the post, but I thought he was directing his frustrations at the higher ups at DTG and not the low level coders. After all, the lower level people are just doing a day job. They have no say in how upper management wishes to portray their company in a negative light publicly.

 

This. Never blame Matt, JD, Alex or anyone in the forum, they are just doing their job, Matt wants the best for the game, he’s been in the TSC for years and I remember him and his father’s website. Matt is really passionate about the game and one of the best people. It’s the higher ups that ruin it sadly, they are greedy for money, I mean the ceo was a ex ea executive. Hopefully things change with focus’ acquisition and positive change is bought into how the company is structured because there are great developers but awful higher ups, people who make deadlines and force it on to developers which in turn ends up in them being overworked, and issues arising in DLC. It’s sad because TSW has so much potential but it is held back by the greed of the ones in power at DTG. I mean every time you hear someone come onto the forums and make a post about DTG, it’s just the passion. We are all a community with passionate rail fans, and passionate developers (I’m talking about the TSW team) but absolutely God Awful higher ups who only care about appeasing the shareholders. Everyone wants to see the game succeed but the issues arise in how people want to see the game succeed. I do want TSW to be great so I want the best for the game, which is why I give credit where credit is due and I give criticism where criticism is valid. I feel like all this TSW4 outrage is reactionary, it just shows how much passion that everyone has in the game, sure it is a very niche game but it’s customers and community are very very dedicated to the game. It’s a shame things are the way they are, but DTG are the only option, and I am passionate about TSW. I just hope things get better for everybody.
