Unbelieveable screenshots, proabably the best I've ever seen in any train sim so far. Can't wait. I think I spied some new nice looking trees that would be good to use for our user created routes once the editor is out...

I've just been getting used to splines in the UE editor and noticed fence posts don't always point up, they seem to align with the normal of the surface, like as in the screenshot of the platform above. You can get round this by using the rotate gizmo on the spline, but it can unwantingly adjust the rest of the spline. There's probably a proper way to solve this, one for the UE gurus.

The route looks great but the team behind it are the real highlight for me.
I've seen some great creative and design decisions with the player in mind which I'm sure we all really appreciate.

I'm just really scared that being locked behind the TSW4 wall that it won't get the sales it deserves. Then they will have justification for more mind-numbing EMU commuter routes.
I pray they do a TSW4 bundle that includes this route, similar to what they did with TSW3 and Spirit of Steam.

I desperately want to support this route but I don't want to pay for three routes that I have little interest in.

I would put Niddertalbahn as the benchmark for sales of this one (and I'm not sure how well that sold). Relatively niche era / interest but high quality and good word of mouth.

(Needless to say I'm a day one purchaser and am thoroughly envious of all those lucky beta testers that get to experience this already)

I would love a bundle for the route but somehow I doubt DTG are gonna offer that which is a but of a shame because as you say it looks so well done!

While we'll never get to find out due to commercial sensitivities it would be interesting to find out how much JT or any third party see from a digital sale of DLC

Steam take £30 from user; this is £25 once VAT element is taken off
Steam take their 30% cut, DTG sees £17.50
DTG take their cut and JT end up with £??

30% is such a common figure it's probably reasonable to assume DTG also take 30%, although whether that's 30% of the full price (£7.50) or after Steam took their cut (so £5.25) would depend on how persuasive their commercial team is I guess.

That would leave a third party with between £10.00 and £12.25 per full price sale. It would also potentially explain why third party DLC is rarely on sale, on PSN the only two routes not to receive any kind of discount are Niddertalbahn and Midland Mainline, Peak Forest which came out after both of those has already had a 30% discount but that would just mean DTG receive the same £12.25 as a third party would get from a full price sale.

Absolutely! Though if they were going to, I'd have to be selfish and ask for a post-2018 representation so my local Maghull North actually exists :D ideally both the 507/508s and the 777s could be represented. We get modern traction, and get to keep some old classics alive!

I really am massively looking forward to this route as it does seem to be the highest quality and most diverse DLC yet. Looking brilliant!

This is going to be so good. I think it’s going to trump just about every UK route currently in game.

Roll on… whenever the release date is!

Looks great, I have been asking for a route like this for ages, doesn't have to be hundreds of miles long, just interesting operations and some effort put into getting the scene set right. NTP and TVL could have been more like this. Well done to JT.

Hopefully the guards door controls above the doors will work for the pacer unlike the 150 by the staff door

Look at the accurate and varied destinations on Preston PIS photo on platform 3 and 4, as per the 1986 timetable, fantastic work to JT,,, really looking forward to this route as my old stomping ground

Looks incredible. Are the docks at Preston included?
Also is the level crossing at Moss Side able to be operated from the platform?

This route is fast becoming the reason I will need to get TSW4, sure the ECML looks interesting and I love having another steam engine but at the moment this route looks above all of them. I'm sure others will agree, but its really good to see the work and love thats gone into a historic route. A historic route with so much variety and what seems like a well fleshed out timetable :D

I am wondering if we know how it runs on console yet with all of the layers? :)

The full timetable so far is working fine on the Console. We hold bi weekly stress tests with a member of staff from DTG. This is done on the lowest performing console which is the Xbox one.

Preston Docks are not a feature on the route. There is no real meaning to include the area on this project. You would in reality need a meaningful starting point to drive services from and to the Dock. You would then need a industrial loco too for that area. Maybe something to look at one day in the future. But not at the moment.

As for Moss Side Level Crossing, as far as we can see there isn't any push button located on the station in our era. However if anyone knows otherwise please let us know.
    Cheers, Tom

Glad to hear its running ok on consoles. I'm on Xbox Series S and this was my only concern. Also hoping Blackpool Tower doesn't suddenly pop in when you get close like the cooling towers on Midland Main Line do, it really lets it down. Pictures look absolutely stunning and really looking forward to it.

We have a series S at home, Not tried this on it yet however, but my eldest son is eager to have a play when the time comes. So it will be nice to see how it plays on there. The Blackpool Tower can be seen at a good 7+ miles away :D

When I read that a massive smile appeared on my face. :D
How have you done that though as from what I gathered (again from MML) was that things could only appear when you were close to them.

Route is looking quite stunning in the photos, definitely a scenic one indeed. My want for this continues to increase, I’ll be looking forward to its release and seeing more in the meantime for sure. Very impressive work by all at JT.

I'm looking forward to playing the new route especially driving down to Blackpool south as it passes Blackpool pleasure beach which looking at the screenshots I'm very impressed with JT. I just hope there next route will be the Metropolitan Line as it's highly requested keep up the good work JT

I must admit, there's something wonderful about driving down the ramshackle Blackpool South branch in a 142 I'm really looking forward to.

The only thing missing from this, as I’ve already mentioned, is the tramway. It would have been the icing on the cake, particularly in 1986 when the heritage fleet was still largely intact (the OMO cars might have gone by then) and most of the trams were still running with trolley poles, not pantographs. Guess it would have been a bit too much and of course a whole range of logistical and operational issues to overcome including line of sight running.

The tramway would serve no purpose to the project. The closest you would get to it is near the Pleasure Beach. But even then its out of the camera boundary. You wouldn't get anywhere near it. That itself would be its own project with the amount of scenery detail required along with custom assets. I would love to see that however being a heritage tram driver on the route and having previously done 7 years of flexity2 LRT driving for Blackpool Transport. We just have to hope one day it happens :D

    Cheers, Thomas

This route is looking absolutely stunning. Love the new screenshots. I agree with some that this is going to be one if not the best UK route. NTP could do with a new timetable with a similar amount of detail and variety.

I am hoping that JT will make more routes from this period and that the sales from this route will encourage them.

It looks absolute stunning and for me this is for sure a addon that i add to my TSW4 collection.....
Only one question for me..... Why are Rivet and Skyhook doens't create this in this quality?! Its so a big diffrence and i beleve with now 2 partners TSG and JT! They, Rivet and Skyhook have to make a choice... leave or upgrade there quality manners!

To be fair skyhook is upgrading MML and replies to issues so it's not like skyhook isn't trying

    Rivet on the other hand

Completely depends on the studios financial and commitments

Rivet, as far as I know, don't do much other content. SHG have Lawn Mower simulator and other games, while JT have a large catalogue of previous content that is readily available, along with a platform for other content, such as flights and bus simulators.

TSG is also a labour of love from a small company.

It boils down to, can they afford to spend 2 - 3 times longer or will that not be financially viable.

Rivet does work on their content, they are just nowhere near a vocal.

SHG has gone fairly quiet lately, which makes me concerned
