There maybe a Xbox sale on some newer pieces of TSW3 DLC as most of the DLC's on the Xbox store says 10% off with game pass, ending in 11 days except a few which include Linke Rheinstrecke: Mainz - Koblenz NEC: New York - Trenton Birmingham Cross City Bahnstrecke Bremen - Oldenburg These say 10% off with game pass, ends in 8 Hours which could mean these are about to go on sale
Tempted to pick up one (already have Birmingham but not the rest). Which is considered the best of the two German routes?
Probably Linke Rheinstrecke, Bremen has some performance issues, Linke is even better if you have the Niddertalbahn, because the 628 layers on it too.
Only if you plan on buying TSW4. If you’re buying the route and TSW4, you’ll get the new timetable at launch. If you have TSW3 and buy this route you could be waiting a while for the new timetable.
I play on series x, I don’t particularly mind it tbh, it never lasts long enough for me to be mad at it. I think I may have noticed the odd one on it, but I don’t think it was equal to Bremen which is where I think the route I particularly noticed stutter for the first time.
Picked up Birmingham Cross City last night as that is the title, in the sale, that I was most interested in. I was just wondering how the other three titles are generally regarded when it comes to content and bugs?
Bremen-Oldenburg has some stuttering every now and then and I’m on Series X. NY-Trenton only has 1 bug I’m aware of and very noticeable is the pantographs not staying up. The new timetable is going to be released for TSW4 but not for TSW3, and it probably never will be because it’s Dovetails way of getting you to buy the new game. But I do hope the new timetable is the somewhat savior of this route. I don’t own Linke Rheinstrecke but I did consider it.
Bit of a stingy sale! Only 10% off legacy routes such as Tees Valley and London Commuter. Hardly worth bothering!
Well considering for years Xbox users have mostly just had the10% Game Pass discount I think this is a step in the right direction. Roll on more dlc with 50% discounts.
Now that TSW is no longer on GamePass, I hope we get 50/60% Sales more often. I remember a PC Sale with entire Routes for just €2.99, damn I was jealous back then.
Did bought TSW3 standard version last week for 7,99 euro's, which is a good deal for three routes. Still didn't got time to play it so I hope it works fine. Otherwise I still got TSW2 which runs fine. The only thing that annoys me a bit is that very old routes are still at full price and are not many times on sale.
From those routes which one should I get because I already own Wunderline Bremen Oldenburg Leer Groningen and Birmingham Cross City Line which leaves me with NEC Philadelphia 30th Street New York Penn Station via Trenton Rutgers University New Brunswick Saint Barnabas Hospital Newark Airport or Deutsche Bundesbahn Bahndirektion Frankfurt/Köln Linke Rheinstrecke to buy for the sale
depends on a few things, how did you find Bremen, would you prefer to run that loco and a similar driving controlled loco on a more longer and scenic German route, then Linke may be for you are you into American passenger, like Amtrak express ? Or NJ station stopping ? Then Trenton may be for you Prefer to try out a midlands/south stopping services route, if you like Bakerloo or Cathcart type of gameplay runs then this may be for you.
Would like to see Horseshoe Curve in the sale, then I might buy the new loco Norfolk Southern Heritage Livery pack for it.
Went for NEC as well but with TSW4 in mind. Joes upcoming timetable update was my only incentive for buying it. But until proven wrong I fear us xbox players should take every sale opportunity when given...
I agree but xbox sales are far and few between. One on at present but only four routes. It would be nice if, like Armstrong Powerhouse do, they just did a weekend of everything at say 40% off. That would be good but it probably will never happen.
Picked up Linke Rheinstrecke & Bremen-Oldenburg. So that's three titles I've picked up in the sale. I may pick up New York-Trenton later, if I ever pick up TSW4. However, at the moment, there just seems to be too many negative comments about this add on.
I picked up the Deluxe edition of this game on sale as I'm a big sim fan (FS, Snowrunner etc) and loving it so far. I paid $13aud (about 7.70 euros?) and it came with the liverpool-crewe and 3 other routes as well. It's a fun game, but the audio is a bit dodgy. I'm having fun using the Stanier and Jubilee on the Liverpool-Crewe. I absolutely love the Santa Fe but it's not on sale unless you have game pass, which I cancelled as they put the price up
Not sure if I'm out of line here but it'd be nice if DTG perhaps thought about reducing the price for some of the older content that isn't really going to see much done to it now with TSW4. But then thats personal opinion as I'd be more inclined to buy some of the older routes on a sale or at a lower price
The thought also occurred to me. Why not at least permanently discount the Routes that are very unlikely to get any more DLC. West Somerset Railway, RapidTransit, Main-Spessart Bahn, Northern Trans-Pennine and Long Island Railroad just to name a few Examples.
I really do feel that a revised pricing structure could make a positive impact. For instance, suppose that you are a new player picking up ECML, and you then become interested in playing LBN. You would also need GWE, ECW, the 313, and SEHS for the full effect, besides the fact that you just paid for ECML. Of course, in many ways paying for additional DLC is the whole point of TSW, but when LBN originally came out it was part of a reduced price bundle, not to mention that many existing players at that time could reasonably be expected to already have at least some of the layering DLCs. Also consider LIRR. This line is at best dated and not indicative of a modern TSW experience. However, a new player who just buys Antelope Valley would not necessarily know to expect the drop in quality if LIRR is the next DLC they purchase. Although there already is a difference in pricing, something more significant could serve as an indication to not expect the same level of quality. My personal idea would be a permanent 50% discount on all DLC before TSW2 and also for all loco DLC prior to TSW3, to reflect the higher standards of today's DLC and to help new players build their collections. Although I don't see this happening, I do hope to see more frequent Xbox sales now that TSW is off Game Pass, or even occasional events where everything is deeply discounted like the recent humble bundle, would be appreciated.
I think it would also help with routes like NTP and HFP which are still layering into a lot of routes for rail tours etc and JT services. A bundle like we got with TVL+31+20 wouldn't be a bad idea either Im just in this place of I want the JT route desperately but its also £36 for NTP amd HFP on Xbox too. I just may have to be patient with one or the other but theres also ECML too so it all adds up haha
On Xbox there is now an Option to create your own Bundles for Sales. Ubisoft recently had a sale where you could choose 3 of the Assassin's Creed parts and the cheapest one was free. In my opinion it would also be a good Idea for TSW, buy one Route and get another Route/Loco Add-on for free.
Doubt it. Dovetail needs your money for there overpriced routes and “new” loco DLC’s. Still a great idea though!
I’ve just upgraded from Xbox One X to Series X and, whilst there is still a bit of a stuttering, it is a marked improvement. SEHS extension between Ashford and Ebbsfleet used to be painful but now is smooth as anything.
I got Linke Rheinstrecke in the end and absolutely love it. Easily my favourite German route that I’ve played.
Xbox sales (TSW4 only it appears) in £ Glossop Line = £9.99 West Somerset Railway = £7.99 Northern Trans Pennine = £9.99 London Commuter = £7.49 Kassel Würzburg = £8.99 NY Trenton = £11.99 Rapid Transit = £9.99 Dresden Riesa = £8.99 Special Edition TSW4 = £44.99 Linke Rheinstreke = £14.99 Class 700 = £6.49 Forest = £14.99 Main Spessart Bahn = £9.99 South Eastern High Speed = £8.99 Cajon Pass = £8.99 Boston Providence = £7.49
I used the online Microsoft Store to have check for others, I have most, just debating whether to pick up Glossop of Peak Forrest as that’s all I’m missing from the list
they are, The TSW3 one (the one on sale works on both TSW3+4) the TSW4 one not on sale doesn’t work on TSW3 as far as I’m aware. I bought the TSW3 one before TSW4 came out and it comes across.
All the listed items are for TSW2/TSW3 and the rule of thumb is that they are only forwards compatible (ie a TSW3 addon will work with 3+4 but not 2), so yes, every addon on that list will work in both TSW3 and TSW4.
Black Friday addons sale. Or for the full list, visit your TW3/TSW4 gamecard > show in Microsoft store > addons for this game. You can scroll down the list to see which of your not owned content is on sale.
I dont own TSW4 yet but have purchased a route on sale and It does let you download the TSW3 version once you've bought the TSW4 version for the sale price in case anyone was wondering
They would work for both games, its all compatible. Disappointed with no tees valley sale, its the one im missing the most.
works forwards not back, it always had done since TSW 2, whichever version you buy is the oldest it will work on.
