Hi guys. Just decided to make this thread regarding if they’ll be freight on the new route between between Doncaster and Peterborough. If my knowledge is correct I believe most freight these days is diverted through Lincoln. Feel free to post any ideas or freight workings you know of that uses this section of ECML.And what you think will feature in game. Railtours RHTT etc.

There's two large yards at Doncaster and Peterborough, not sure how many freight services would traverse the full length of the route as most of the section north of Peterborough towards Doncaster is only double track. Adding freight services here would likely delay all the express services. Like you say most are diverted via Lincoln to avoid this, so don't expect many long freight runs on this route.

Most freight does indeed take the former line via Lincoln but you will see it at Peterborough and Doncaster.
There are a few intermodal trains a day, particularly in the evening that use the main route, using the loops to stay out of the way if necessary.

There is a continuous stream of freight using the down slow out of Peterborough, particularly aggregate trains taking the line to Stamford.

RHTT is an obvious choice with one being stabled at the Peterborough EWS depot.

You get tankers for Immingham crossing the Newark Flat Crossing but you are unlikely to see these as when you are crossing obviously these will be stopped well back at the appropriate signal.

There used to be regulars runs with Europhoenix 37’s taking old southern units to Doncaster so this can easily be recreated.

Not to mention HST sets from the Western Region travelling to Doncaster to have sliding doors fitted.
