Aside from Aachen to Brussels, my real dream route is Frankfurt am Main north with stops at Giesen and Marburg. Giesen to Koblenz to Trier to Luxembourg would be as fine as a train from BRD to Strasbourg, Fr. Then there is Dresden thru to Prague. And why not TGV Lille to Paris Dijon/ Lyons ?? Lille to Paris, then Chunnel to London ? Lille down thru Calais to ??? Short route Lille into Belgium gives you ... Brugge / Bruge !! Zeebrugge to ??? Lille is so great as offering TGV and short routes north and south, n'est-ce pas ? dozens of typos later, r
extending that to aachen would be probably too long, I am currently measuring the length of cologne to frankfurt and the length of kassel to würzburg (of course over the stations and track line, not general distance) to check if that will be longer than KWG or a bit shorter
yeah I kinda got what you mean but idk. remember Dresden-Riesa? we also have Dresden-Chemnitz now. what do we learn? they didn't extend the route, they made a new one with the same station as in the other one.
Westbury up to Bristol would be my dream line. Lots of 66 action in westbury yards, beautiful scenic river valley and a busy ish terminus with the option of extending into Wales.
I got a great one. GWML to Oxford and Didcot Parkway!!!!! Or maybe to BTM!!!! I love the GWML. Maybe set in more modern times where the HSTs were coexisting alongside the IETs at Paddington, as well as maybe the Electrostars alongside the Turbostars. Not only it will allow for longer runs with the HST and IET, there will be full runs that are doable like London Paddington-Oxford with an IET/HST and Didcot Parkway with a slow service as well as High Speed runs that carry on elsewhere. Plus we can have some freight maybe. If it ever happened I would never be able to stop playing TSW
I’m going to have to say ECML, particularly the Durham to Edinburgh section (maybe a bit of bias as it’s the only section of it to memory I’ve been on (Newcastle to Edinburgh)) id like the route with a Class 91 & Class 80x series (Lumo & LNER included) London to Paris is also on my list with the Class 374 and 373. (One can dream)
