I would like to officially suggest the layering of upcoming types onto existing routes where applicable. Class 142 would fit perfectly onto TVL. Class 801 would make excellent AI on Edinburgh Glasgow at Waverley and out of Kings Cross on SEHS. I am sure there may be others that could/should be included. This would make superb use of assets available in order to better populate empty locations.
Jasper from Rivet Games passed on the idea of adding LNER layers to Edinburgh Glasgow when I suggested it so that might have a chance of happening.
And also the Metrolink stock would be possible to layer at San Bernadino on Cajon Pass to make it feel more busier in that area
I doubt an 801 needs to be layered onto Kingd Cross given most people will never really go there. Other then that great suggestion.
Surely the same could be said for the Thameslink services that go there. Although now I think about it that was because the 700 came to SEHS anyway.
You don't really notice the ECML lines on SEHS unless you happen to be in external view for the few seconds you pass over it when exiting the tunnel from Stratford approaching St Pancras (and vice-versa). 142 on Tees Valley and the 801 on E-G as AI would be good however. Maybe Rivet could add a special playable service for the 801 into Glasgow Queen Street (mimicking a railtour or diversion)?
Jasper said himself that when he first saw the class 801 being announced, doing something with it on EDG was the first thing he was thinking. So we might see something on EDG. I'm not sure about other routes though.
How about enabling ÖBB Baureihe 4024/4124 a layer on some of the German routes if applicable to do so. Speaking of this That perfectly makes sense because they were ordered to replace the ageing Class 101s
OK then so how about the ÖBB Baureihe 1016/1116 which might arrive in a loco pack that one can do Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen & Hannover Würzburg which is actually the entire Kassel Würzburg route Main Spessart Bahn and Hauptstrecke München Augsburg nightjet runs. Regarding the Blackpool route why not have it's class 47 substitute and layer on TVL Huddersfield line NTP WSR and railtour duty on Birmingham Cross City Southeast high speed ECML York Doncaster Peterborough and East Coastway. Remember British routes in the present day have a unique feature is that older stock tends to layer onto them when needed. BKL is the exception since it's a TFL route
I've made a spreadsheet to this effect - feel free to add any contributions I've missed https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HdxCx21P1Mv2lT_FCGlWGbMCHV0nEI2q61fko5QUop8/edit#gid=0
Thanks to the person who blanked the spreadsheet out btw, really helpful. I've turned off editing, but I'll add any suggestions you come up with.
Ah. Just seen this post. Sadly the internet can be like that. Let me know if you can help me find a way to suggest stuff.
class 401 also fits into Cologne-Aachen but I hope the new timetalbe if it's true that it still comes will include it then
