So how come the ALP 46 in game sounds different to real life? I've just been watch some videos and so far I haven't found any where they sound similar to what's in the game which is strange since the trains sounds like it's using real audio recordings. Have the real trains had their motors replaced? Or are the sounds in-game not from the real loco?

iirc, the sounds were gathered from the community, fanrailer I think. There are 2 different traction motor sounds for the alp46 and the 46a.

DTG has a long history of not using the correct sounds on their stuff. Going all the way back to like TS2014 on the Train Simulator franchise. This is nothing new. It's why I paid extra close attention to the Metrolink sounds they've previewed. It seems they definitely up-ed their game for it since they recorded all the sounds. But in previous times, a lot of their stuff sounded nothing like real life. Horns, bells, engine sounds, etc. This is especially true for US content where they rarely spend anytime and try to outsource it or reuse old incorrect sounds. Freelance developers and modders have transformed their stuff into what it should actually be. Like I said though, there seems to have been a major shift for TSW4 and the Metrolink content as it all sounds pretty accurate.
