Enough Is Enough!!!

It's up to them to know how to do business, it's up to me to decide what I buy. I am not buying broken products or cash grabs only to possibly keep a different IP afloat. If I'm offered solid products and decent customer treatment, I WILL give them money. If they're not doing well (which is a speculation of course), maybe angering a significant portion of loyal customers is not the way to go, who would've thought?

 

Hadn't we established already it's a significantly small part of active forum users that are angered? The polls show that the majority of players are favourable of the TSW4 announcement. We also haven't seen an influx of new users from the otherwise silent majority raising their voice.

What you do with you money is your choice.

 

Maybe shout that a bit louder. I don't think all the "we are forced to buy TSW4" people heard you.

No it doesn't. Neither Focus nor DTG would be interested in subsiding TSC using the profits from TSW.

 

And TSC is also the most-played of all the versions, at least on Steam, with TSW2 coming in at a close 2nd.

 

But compared with Playstation it's peanuts

It was mentioned in a stream that PC users were 33% of the TSW userbase. Not all PC users are on Steam so you get the gist

 

Worth nothing that was years ago so numbers could have changed.

TSC is also almost entirely held up by third parties at this point so short of DTG making a focused & exacting effort to bringing TSC to its knees (and even then it’s probably not going to do much), TSW has no bearing on it.

 

I feel like DTG took note of the Flying Scotsman's Centenary and were like Hey! Let's make a whole new game to make audiences pay double the price of ECML and Flying Scotsman!

This is something I have wanted to do, in the past few days. Upload these two images to compare the two, Granted my XB1X is a bit old and I really don't know where the images are pulled from, but there is a very BIG difference and my daughter asked the question, how is that an older game can show a better-looking image than a newer one, ie; most recent as is in released less than a year ago. So what will the next compare and contrast be?

Keep in mind I grabbed these with OBS and I blacked other items so the focus would be on just the two items TSW2 & TSW3

Going off YouTube and Twitter (X), TSW 4 does appear to have bombed. DTG will never admit that it has though.

Yeah that we will for sure, but yes I did see the two opposing sides battling it out in the chat as I scrubbed through the live feed. and then moderators jumped in telling people they would remove any post they did not like or did not directly contribute to the conversation, ie; TSW4.

Nothing at all, unless he’s cleverly using that to demonstrate that these polls, and the quoting of them, is totally meaningless. I’d guess that’s not the case though.

 

Would you mind pointing me to these polls showing how significantly small part we are? And some data on that influx (probably should have happened with TSW3 too, right)?

All I see is this being the most active thread for weeks and definitely a huge difference between upvotes for angered and happy posts in it.

 

This is one of these things that is classic ‘fake news’. It was mentioned once in a stream eons ago (and my BS meter has to question just how convenient it is that the TSW player base is equally and neatly split into thirds) and has been quoted again and again without any factual proof to justify a certain point of view, normally when consoles players are attempting to dismiss the concerns of PC players.

It's not split into thirds. PC is a third. Xbox is not a third.

We have seen a few polls when TSW4 got announced like "should DTG apologise"

 

I think it's a mistake to assume any kind of collaborative approach from either side. Lumping people into pigeon holes loses a whole bunch of nuances, not to mention the possibility of error based on assumption.

I think we all want TSW as a product to succeed. We disagree on whether or not it is and the best way of moving it forward. In that sense we are all in it together in as far as we all want a great quality product.

My own approach will be to assess TSW4 on release through YouTube footage and reviews. I will then wait to see if fixes are applied for any reported issues. Then ill wait to see if it becomes abandonware in 6-8 months. Then and only then will I purchase.

Otherwise I'll wait until TSW20 which by then might have stuttering and flickering fixed, but likely not..

How can a title that isn’t actually out yet, “bomb”. From what I’ve seen of YT feeds (I don’t doTwitter type stuff) you get a few presenters with over inflated egos presenting a one side bias (could be positive, or negative) not necessarily informed comment or opinion. The only people with access to TSW4 until Thursday are DTG, their associates and testers.

I will judge it on its merits, maybe take a peek at Steam DB see how the numbers are. But I highly doubt DTG and their new Focus overlords would have invested so heavily in the title, if they thought it was going to bomb. And I don’t think it will. Having the editors alone makes the change worthwhile and I can’t wait to get my hands on the new routes and the Vectron, FS maybe not so much.

 

basically, it shows how the people on the forums feel that there is not enough engagement between DTG and the people.
I have heard many times from DTG that the people wanted or asked for _____ fill in the blank.
And yet At the same time, those polls are kind of meaningless, the engagement rate of the people is not a very good metric, but in a way, it does show a little bit of how some feel even though it is so few. I suspect it is because of the way moderators jump into silence about what they feel is inappropriate.

 

I voted no in that should dtg apologise poll.
But my position on tsw4 is fairly clear. Polls are only as good as the question, and the conclusions are often two steps removed from that again. Recent national elections have demonstrated the dangers of relying on polls..

 

Yep I bet all those who voted for Mr Drakeford in Wales didn’t see the blanket reduction of urban 30 MPH speed limits to 20 MPH (not even 25 as in the US)!

 

Then there's the law of unintended consequences. Number plate cloning has gone up over 800% in London as the ultra low emissions zone kicks in. Expect increases of such crimes as speed limit cameras are introduced..

It is Deeds and actions that speak louder than words, When someone says "Trust me" I walk the other way or do not listen, when a handshake is like holding a dead wet limp fish, it's a person that you need to keep ya eye on and maybe not trust.

Just the usual discontent users that thought they were going to pull a Twitter style exodus or a reddit stand off. All that remains of the "TSW rebellion" is this topic. A topic used by many as the off topic section in general discussions

I suspect, and I have no data on this, that those who are in the middle are off doing other things right now. It's only idiots like us who really can see magnificent potential sticking around banging the drum. If you think about it, you may want to hope we are the vocal majority rather than an irrelevant minority...

Without substance? Twitter is bleeding cash and Reddit is still recovering from the community rebellion. In the meanwhile at DTG it's business as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary

Twitter is bleeding cash intentionally. Thank God someone came along to try and change it from the idiotically woke echo-chamber it had become. Very few people would shed a tear if it disappeared up it’s own backside, and frankly the world would be a better place if it were consigned to the history bin.
