HOW did we go from "Its all done and just awaiting a date" to "Its all been cancelled, go buy tsw4" I think we are owed more then just a "sweep it under the rug" if it was FINISHED then why is it cancelled? THIS is why people dont trust DTG. Its a history of mis-communication and false hope.
I would like some clarification on Add-ons for TSW2. SO will they no longer be available for purchase as well?
"We are removing all traces of TSW1-3 from existence to FORCE YOU to buy TSW4 Uhhhh we mean "to make it easier to find dlc for tsw4"
They've already been removed from being able to be purchased at least on steam. You had to buy it through tsw3 instead.
I don't think that's true. I still see listings for stuff: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1304462/Train_Sim_World_2_DB_BR_204_Loco_AddOn/
It is unfortunate, but you just need to accept that TSW2 is dead. They did apologize for lying for a year for what its worth. Just another reminder that you can never take what DTG says as any kind of assurance or truth. They have lied in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Maybe it's part of their marketing model. You either need to accept that you're buying something that can be broken and will never be fixed no matter what they say, or you move on to a different train sim (however limited they are out there) or a different hobby altogether where you won't be repeatedly lied to by a developer.
Well they wont be getting me to buy their yearly "£40 patch" and I know im not alone. This was the straw that broke the camels back.
Yeah I suspect that there are quite a few of us out there who are done being strung along like this. I'll continue using TSW2 as is knowing there are some journeys / services that I can never complete. I can't play TSW3 (and I suspect 4) routes anyhow since the background scenery stutter is too awful and makes me nauseous.
TSW2 was the pinnacle of the game anyway - it's sad that the Preserved Collection crew's work was jettisoned though, TSW2 would be even better. I bought into TSW3, but there are performance issues with that as well.
Agreed. TSW2 struck the right balance of visuals / performance. It could have benefitted from ongoing fixes, but alas they went in a different direction that performs far worse. Perhaps at some point they'll actually work on that bullet point that sits on every roadmap slide about performance improvements.
What a convincing argument. Well, it's hardly unique to TSW that players will defend and reward shady business practises to no end (not that I haven't been guilty of that as well). No wonder the game industry has been such a mess for ages.
Probably weren't done and far from ready for release. They had too much of a mess on their hands with TSW3 to bother with the previous version. Then again they brought all this upon themselves. Shows a lack of basic business professionalism. Feels more like you're dealing with a group of college people working on a side project in their dorms in their spare time.
This feels a lot like that situation with the French route fixes that spanned the course of several different community managers on the TSC forum and were "Being worked on" for years. Very disappointed in DTG for how they've handled this.
The whole thread about TGV Reseau fixes for TSC should be a mandatory read before creating a forum account rather than Terms and Agreements.
