Agreed. The topic is more of a statement than a subject to discuss. Acknowledged :)

Kinda off-topic, but just fyi, while I don't really like Aerosoft either, it's not their fault in this case. I'm pretty sure they'd love to be able to work on OMSI, considering there's still an astonishing amount of people creating payware and freeware content for such an old game, but they legally can't.

The two original devs split up many years ago, but still hold ownership over the source code. One of them stopped working in game developement and the other one is developing LOTUS, a (in my opinion) rather poor attempt at a successor to OMSI. Since he's developing said spiritual sequel one could argue that it might be in his best interest that Aerosoft continues to only hold the publishing rights and nothing else. He continues to make bank on good ol' OMSI while it lasts and OMSI's ageing state might incentivize players to buy LOTUS instead in the future. But that's just speculation of course. ;)

There are bugs, yes, but my overall experience isn't ruined by them. Some bugs I haven't even noticed unless someone else points them out.

  5. Yup, Ive had more than one game spoilt by looking on forums, reading about a bug I would never have noticed and then never being able to unsee it, instead of just playing the game and enjoying it.

This thread needs to be deleted or locked. It goes nowhere something helpfull and is almost a direct attack to the OP.
Yes TSW 1/2/3/4 are good games and yes there is heavy bugs that need to be fixed (Hello RT Dosto how are you ?). There's no reason to pass judgment like this to whoever in public.

DTG said somewhere the tutorial for it is going to be fixed so I think with that they mean the control car itself is going to get a fix

And I thought I was alone in believing all this poster's threads were an obvious attempt to win DTGs favour and be made an Ambassador.

    Joining the opinion parade:

I don't agree with some of DTG's priorities and am very unhappy with a couple of their recent decisions, but I try to stay half-full and at least understand. And I very much enjoy the game.

IMO, for anyone but the OP to request a thread being locked due to the behavior of people other than the OP is bad form.

IMO, deriding a positive post as "ragebaiting", as if the rampant and occasionally malicious negativity here is the natural way of things and an extremely positive post that tweaks them is somehow a faux pas, is ridiculous.

They'll tell you it's coming for the next year, then hide behind the wall of TSW5, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

Yeah if my memory is correct, Matt said it in early August and that a fix is coming soon. Yet nothing as expected but who’s surprised honestly ? The only fix done and the last one for TSW3 is the upgraded timetables for NEC. Yeah I know there’s one for MML too but I don’t believe them, it’s been months and they always speak the same speech.

There are way too many people on this forum that act like moderators lol.
Always just posting threads should be locked. If the mods want a thread locked, it will be locked.
It's not up to some vocal members of the community to decide that.

My best advice to OP is...keep your positivity here rather than on the Steam forums. If you think you are getting a bad reception here....

Securing my reply before this thread getting locked. Hey, i don't want to miss the party. :D

All i just want to say for the OP is, you are one step closer to become a TSW Ambassador. Can't agree more that TSW is indeed a bugless game. XD

Even ambassadors point out bugs and have a whole channel where they report bugs.

When you start attacking someone personally then I think you have to have a hard look at yourself in the mirror.

I don't agree with the whole premise of the OP, to say there are no bugs is obviously factually incorrect. However it is good to see some people wanting to be positive and enjoying TSW even if some of it seems a little over the top. It makes a refreshing change considering all the negativity there has been over the last few weeks, some of it I can understand but much of it overblown in my opinion. Some on here are clearly rankled by someone not banging the TSW is awful drum.

It is about the facts though, isn't it?

The OP has a fairly long history of ignoring the facts surrounding bugs and other issues with routes and locos, while posting gushing, over- the- top statements and often unfairly belittling those who offer genuine criticism. There's nothing " refreshing " about that. It's just irritating.

He is bound to attract derision and even mockery from some on the forum who are irritated by this glossing over the facts.

Personally, I just find his posts rather amusing, I don't take them seriously and they don't bother me unduly. And I certainly don't condone personal attacks on anyone.

But, honestly, if people make fun of him, it's because he invites such reactions, indeed he may be trolling to attract those kinds of responses.
Or he may be trying to ingratiate himself with DTG. Who knows?

But, whatever his motivation for those outrageous threads, as long as he posts in that way, others will respond in the manner you see on this thread. It's human nature.

There's always one. Over on the Eurogamer comments threads it's an almost parodic and certainly cringe-inducing for any of us who own one, XBox fanboy that for some time was the subject of many discussions of Poe's Law, given the comical nature of some of his posts that read like bad marketing copy.

The OP reminds me of another poster in the TSC section, who was constantly being condescending towards other users and their criticism and then when he gets "called out" on it, acts like he is the victim (and gets the thread locked to boot). I don't like dogpiling either, but it's how I would expect a bully to act, ie. they "can't take their own medicine". Or they were just trolling all along.

BlaringHorn , you're probably talking about the admin of another forum who came in here, constantly dismissing valid criticism of low quality US loco DLC (criticising people's opinions who were criticising technical stuff), inevitably leading to people criticising him, and then accusing them of harassment and hitting the "Report" button. And it works, the moderators don't have time to fully read the threads and see those patterns of behaviour, which are prototypical for what is called "trolling".

The issue is not celebrating or recommending TSW - although it is weird enough, I've never seen someone post "I highly recommend ETS2" on the SCS forums, for obvious reasons. The issue is dismissing valid criticism, and therefore disrespecting others, which will get "quarrelsome" naturally.

I can get very hot tempered too, but I try to just ignore people directly attacking me, preferring technical discussion leading to a result anyway. For example, discussions with developer Smokebox are very productive, leading to DLC fixes and always learning stuff, he's proving me wrong sometimes and I need that to improve myself and vice versa. A good discussion ends with both parties having gained something. And taking everything with a good sense of humour (which does not mean being funny) is a thing that's often missing here.

So, for positivity I am looking forward to Antelope Valley - a section still missing in Run8, and the location where one of my all time favourite movies was shot (someone mentioned it before, was it Vern?) - Duel.

Got me a Pete 281 in ATS to spread fear :D

'I do not condone personal attacks'

    and

'He is bound to get flamed'

are in the same post here. (Paraphrased of course in order to not call out anyone).

    1st is a personal opinion

Yes, I meant that, although I abhor personal attacks, I'm sure you'd agree that it would be unrealistic to expect everyone to think that way on a public forum.

Same here; in fact I would probably be back on the abandoned TSW2 permanently except I like some of the TSW3 routes such as Birmingham, Peak Forest, and Niddertalbahn.

I was thinking that the OP was tweaking the folks who put out invented negativity (downplaying or ignoring utterly new features; claiming this new version is less than a year later when it's slightly more; bemoaning a regular annual paid release when this is the first time; and so on) by going similarly over the top with invented positivity. Ironically, those folks get little or no pushback on the fake problems, but OP's equally nonsensical praise gets piled on immediately.

I mean you do see utterly ridiculous posts on par with this one, people talking about law suits etc, they absolutely do get piled on.

Both sides of the spectrum are utterly ridiculous. One side is so offended by issues, but yet they still find the energy to post here, the other side ends up like this, making outlandish posts accusing anyone having an issue of being the issue.

Ultimately we all just need to decide if it’s worth the energy with particular posts on this forum.

OP must have the common sense to know that the community at large here sways one way rather than the other, so expecting not to get piled on is abit naive. Especially when making such false & extreme statements.

The same goes for people making posts such as the one where OP wanted to take DTG to court over a £25 DLC for not having enough passengers. That OP did get piled on and was told how ridiculous it was.

Personally I’m of the belief that the OP here is indeed a ‘troll’, considering the nature of their posts & posts outside of this forum, taking the mickey out of this forum.
