Hi what I am seeking is clarification on the future of tsw I have just watched a video
On YouTube that has made me aware of a Xbox leak that they are bringing out another Xbox series x console targeted for release next November this takes form of a cylinder shaped Xbox can DTG Alex confirm for me please that this development will not be a threat to support for the current series X/S Xbox platform when it comes to dlc/tsw games
    Thanks

Same leak already said it is a “refresh”, not a new console generation, just a better kitted Series S and X, with relation to storage and power savings, not actual performance.

Same consoles in terms of performance.

Only difference is both will have bigger internal SSDs, better WiFi and Bluetooth cinectivity.
Lower power consumption and both will be digital only.

The next gen xbox with more power is due 2028.

From my understanding it's a discless Xbox Series X. The heads of Microsoft have previously stated that they're not interested in a mid gen upgrade. Although this new version comes with a haptic feedback controller with speakers akin to PS5. So maybe the features that PS5 get with TSW4 could come to Xbox in TSW5.

Looks to me like a standard mid-season refresh, so:

    Different case
    Uses less power
    Makes less noise
Something new for the marketing folks at Microsoft to talk about
Opportunity to give it more storage

    But, fundamentally, same machine.

Playstation 4 had the original release and the slim - the slim was identical except many of the points above. The Xbox One had the original and then the "S" refresh (i'm excluding the One X and the PS4 Pro as they were different machines).

Good opportunity for them to tidy up some hardware improvements they've no doubt found through the last few years of the consoles life, update some components like the bluetooth, bang in a new drive, and encourage some people to upgrade to the new best thing in town.

In short: Nothing to worry about here at all imho. Not much to get excited about either unless you're thinking about a purchase in that kinda timeframe - even if you dont want the new shiney, the old shiney will get cheaper just has the PS5 has "suddenly".

    Matt.
