Main Spessart Bahn Industry

Discussion in 'TSW General Discussion' started by SD40Australia, Sep 20, 2023.

  1. I did some searching and could only find one thread on the industry in Creation Forum here.

I love the idea Main Spessart Bahn has the port and the small industrial branch.

They are both unused. I mean there are no services (there are 2 passenger train stations south of Aschaffenberg that aren't used on the way to the port). Or am I missing something?

You can create one a path from the port to Aschaffenberg or vice versa but thats it.

I suppose the scenario planner v2.0 will help or do we need to use more complex tools in the route editor?

For example for picking up some container wagons next to the ships?

The Kassel Wurzberg line bridge is near Germunden right? Well that is what I saw just before Germunden anyway and I think it is without checking google maps. I remember a post in here somewhere about the Kassel Wurzberg route and Main Spessart Bahn.

What "idea" are you talking about?

Technically, Aschaffenburg Sud is on a different route, going south from Aschaffenburg, and not part of the scope of MSB route.
A quick google search reveals that the trains passing through there are RB88 and RE87

    I believe this is realistic.

I recall some shunting in this area, but I haven't played the route in a long time.

According to google maps, you should be able to glimpse Gemunden from the SKW line, for a short bit between two tunnels. No idea what is modeled in the game though, as I usually pass through there at very high speed.

  3. Thank you for your detailed reply!

I am interested in the non electrified route to Bad Mergentheim as you mentioned it isn't on the Germunden line. Aschaffenberg Sud is on of the first stations.

Do you know the name of this line?

I tried finding it in the Wikipedia encyclopedia but no success yet.

I see Wurzberg mentioned quite a bit in the North Bavarian region so I suspect it is 800-899????

Those trains you mentioned run on this line I gather. RB88 RE87...

BTW, the shunting in the port area that I was remembering is added by the DB BR 204 DLC.
