Can anyone confirm if this scenario can be completed in TSW3? I ended up in a huge jam at the Boston South Station, no less than six trains waiting at red lights (3 to come out, and 3 to come into the station). I can retry the thing, but it's a very long scenario, so I'd like to hear someone confirm they completed this in TSW3. Thanks!
No it is not possible to complete and is talked about in this thread which DTG has chosen to completely ignore.
Thanks for the information. I had restarted the scenario, but I don't want to waste another 2 hours on something broken. DTG JD Do you still say 80% of red light issues were fixed?
I did try it twice. Once with safety systems and once without. Both same issue. I am unable to continue Journey mode because of this so it should be considered a major bug, but is ignored.
Boston Sprinter Journey mode isnt locked so you can move on to the next service on the list. Thats not to say DTG shouldnt get this fixed because they should. This route has supposedly had its signaling fixed just recently, this rhubarbed scenario would say otherwise.
The NEC BP: Patriot achievement/trophy cannot be unlocked. It requires all scenarios to be completed on the route. Of course, DTG don't care about these either.
It was borked either in the last update or migration to TSW3. TBF it could have been broken months ago as I haven't played BD for yonks until the update and went back to it to find this scenario broken
So how was your timings at back bay and did you have safety systems on or off? If you can remember anything about your run it would help the rest of immensely as theres many having issues and the general feeling is it's impossible to complete but you've proved us all wrong
Well I know that for any scenarios, you do not turn the safety system ON, unless the scenario requires it As for the timing, I am sorry, but I do not remember it :-( PS I got the Achievement in Steam for completing all the scenarios
It's been awhile since I did that run, but I kind of recall the same issue. You might try creating a different driver profile and try it again. I've had to change profiles a few times already, its a drag but I don't mind re-running older achievements. Good luck!
Hi all, thanks for raising this. I can see that players have completed this scenario only a couple of months ago. However, there is also a video showing a player getting stuck more recently. Therefore, we will bring this to the attention of the QA/Dev team. () ()
Thanks for looking into this, DTG-Chris. Looks like it was possible to complete this scenario prior to the Acela release, but not after.
So, you moved the thread to Technical Reports, although this was not a technical report. I simply asked the community for feedback. The actual technical report is here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/boston-cold-as-ice-scenario-jam.68525/ Zero replies.
Did it yesterday and was a disaster. Same thing. 3 locos heading out 3 trying to head in permanent red signal
it's broke. on the trip back, An ai train was broken when rejoining the main line. i saved and quit and the reload got the train moving. however, at the end of the route, i had a red that would not change, despite having a clear path to the station in boston.
Based on the math and the history, it will be... never! Here's my math, if you care about it: DTG is focusing on new releases over fixing bugs. The new releases have their own bugs, which are also prioritised ahead of older bugs. So, by the time they would get to fixing old bugs, there are many new bugs to fix, which have a higher priority. The history shows that each DLC will have at most one patch and then it's more or less done. Time to move on to the next new thing.
HI to all When a update is made, i run "Ice as cold". Then i make a ticket to the technical. It's always the same answer. Someone on the team will see I don't want to be bad but in the American fleets in TSW3, there are 3 bugs ( Cold as Ice+Equipment Move - Okville division and Fully Fuel - Sand Pacth Grad ( and yes I add another locomotive and in the end, when i got ot take the helpers, I got a red signal . It's from me but if it was an English line would it already be solved? They were worried about the timetables on the English lines, which seems to be a more difficult problem than these bugs (I speak for myself, I already had to study the European timetables in comparison with the Swiss ones, all done in excel. I think I still have nightmares today therefore). All these scenarios work in TSW2, which is even more strange. I like TSW in all, and I will be a fun always, until the end of my time, but please, please ( I have so mutch time to live( going to lose my memory, a God joke)) , so have a little time to fix it.
In fact, nothing strange about it. They have tweaked the dispatcher a lot in TSW3, without touching the same code in TSW2. So, while they fixed some issues that were there since TSW2, other things, which worked fine in TSW2, may have been broken for TSW3. This scenario was likely broken when they introduced the NYT route and re-worked the BOS route for TSW3.
So you must assume they don't have an route or scenario editor. Strange or shame ? I do not know how to answer.......
No, what I meant is that the scenario itself has not changed. It probably consists of the same number of trains departing at the same set times. But, due to how the dispatcher code has been tweaked, the trains end up in a logjam at the Boston South station, instead of safely going where they should be going.
Yes i understand that the scenario didn´t change. So, i think, they do a new and update or change it. Take out the, delete the AI train in this scenario. The other´s one´s is red signals that don't clear to maneuver. A missing something to the dispatcher, or automatic point give the green to maneuver. Let´s have hope and faith they resolve in the next update. And thank to DTG-Chris, to see it.
I just tried out this scenario, I can also confirm that this is currently a broken scenario that can't be completed. I was delayed by 10-15 minutes due to a slow moving train just ahead of me after reaching Route 128 on the inbound trip. A huge jam of 3 trains occur just before Boston South station and one outbound train is in the way of your path, preventing you to reach the station
they really need to run their simulation model on all scenarios to. it works to make sure services work, so dunno why they can't do one for scenarios as well
The crazy thing is, this scenario used to work but before the Acela was released or the most recent dispatcher update, it seems to have broken this scenario. Everything works on the outbound trip for this scenario but on the return trip inbound to Boston South station, a jam occurs at the very end when a train is blocking your path, preventing you from terminating at Boston South Station
Hey Chris, it's been 5 months since you brought it to the attention of the team. Can we have an update on how close you are to fixing this please?
when i tried on TSW2 to possibly import to 3, i got to the penultimate stop and had a clear path to boston, but the light was red and wouldn't give me a 'proceed at reduced speed" despite a clear path.
I can confirm that the scenario worked fine in TSW2 on XSX *after* I filed the report on the issue on TSW3. After completing the scenario in TSW2, imported the profile in TSW3, ran the other scenarios and unlocked the NEC BP: Patriot achievement.
Hi DGT-Chris "Hi all, thanks for raising this. I can see that players have completed this scenario only a couple of months ago. However, there is also a video showing a player getting stuck more recently. Therefore, we will bring this to the attention of the QA/Dev team." Any news or update about "Cold as Ice " ? Thanks
This has been answered already. See this article, the TSW3 and TSW4 patch schedule section. TSW4 will contain the fix from day one. TSW3 will get patched "as soon as we can"... "timeframe to be confirmed". For me, this means absolutely nothing. They said the same about TSW2 fixes and they never came. So, there...
Hello, We are aware of the issue and I am happy to inform you that the issue has been fixed and currently awaiting further testing and release scheduling for TSW 3. For information about the final update for TSW 3 is available at the bottom of this article: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw4-roadmap-part2-24th-august
I'm not sure what value is this post adding to what I already posted. I said it's fixed in TSW4, but not in TSW3. I also posted the same link.
Can confirm the bug for red lights has been finally fixed... Running on TSW4 and just spent 2 hours to finish "Cold as Ice"
I tried to complete Cold As Ice today, and once I make the return trip before stopping at Ruggles, I get a red light and it says my train is off path. So I just wasted over an hour. EDIT: I saved the game, exited to main menu, went back to the scenario, and the light is now yellow
