Can anyone tell me what the difference between the brakes is on the Class 45. It seems the drivers brake is harder to operate but more effective and the straight brake only slows you down at a constant rate no matter if I have 10% or 100% set. Can anyone enlighten me please.

thr drivers brake slows the whole train down. the straight brake just slows the engine/loco down.

Ok, next question then. Driver’s Brake, I’m trying to just use Initial Application as it seems to do the job pretty well. Am I right in saying once I set the Initial Application to my desired amount I then return it to Running (or do I leave it on Initial) and to realise the brake I set it to Release/Overcharge?

    Sorry for all the questions.

yes set it to initial application, if you think your not braking quick enough just put more brake on. when done put it to release overcharge and it goes back to running on its own
