Although we have recently seen the unveiling of Community Challenges, in my perspective things have been very quiet otherwise, especially on the Class 182 and Editor Tools. Will we see any new updates soon? I feel there is this cycle of high interaction followed by periods of nothing - it would be nice an improvement in this
It’s usually released at the end of the month but everyone is/was very busy and they weren’t able to get it out yet.
In any case, anything can be said within the study update. Last time DTG said that in 2019 there will be a ton of content. Well, now we are in the fourth month of the year and only one German route has been released (nice but short). Editor? Missing. Being teased, as far as I'm concerned, is not pleasant.
This is what I'm pointing at. I get that DTG is busy, I'm glad they are - and I hope we see the results of some of their projects soon. But the Class 182 was announced over a month ago, and we don't know what might be coming of it, or if we will see fixes to RT. It's also been over a month and a half since the last studio update. I really want to see this game do well, and I only raise the concern because this kind of lack of news of anything is concerning to community interaction and growth of the game. Our only source of new content and fixes currently is DTG too.
There will be more stuff to talk about soon! Just had quite a bit of things moving further internally. And BR 182 will be out in the first half of April (if all goes right, of course)
Thanks for the update! Will the release of the BR 182 be accompanied by major improvements/bug fixes to any routes?
I was thinking about this the other day. TS19 has had something like 13 updates posted between the dovetail live discussion and news/updates section to our 1 since the update with the 182 announcement. Been starved for info lately. Thanks for the tidbit Dmitri! Looking forward to it.

At the beginning of the article the editor is imminent, but at the end of the article the editor is still far away. What did I not understand?
According to a Train Simulator tweet I have just seen they are "bringing PZB fixes to Rapid Transit route with the launch of DB BR 182" So good new there.
I am honestly really glad to see this, and I will definitely be picking up the 182 on release. This was some great news to see and I am happy to see that our voices were heard
Very good studio update, lots of things to look forward to. The fact that pzb and signaling on RT is being looked at is great, i know there are alot of entitled whiners that complain and demand everything but the feedback on this is true and necessary for 100% operation so its being fixed is paramount Good job DTG
All this was achieved with a lot of blood and tears so thank you for supporting us BR 182 is a fantastic loco and driving it on RT feels great!
At this point, after two years, I have doubts that they are able to do it. So many (vague) words and too little substance. I performed a major upgrade of the specifications on my PC to be able to reproduce the TSW adequately. We now have a program that can be effectively reproduced on an X-Box / PS4. They could have said it before, I would have saved a lot of money.
It amounts to the same thing! They clearly don't have doubts otherwise they wouldn't be mentioning it in an article.
I can! Although it won't be five years. I am sure you wouldn't be the first to complain if they rush it out and it is defective!
Here is my perspective of the Editor. Unlike Railworks, the Unreal engine is not owned by DTG, which adds to the complexity of the game. It's incredibly complex to develop an editor that is friendly for people who didn't make it, especially when you don't own all the tools. It's going to take time, and it's one of those things where the last 10% of the work will take 90% of the time. DTG has worked on making TSW sustainable, and as I have mentioned many times on the forum, the editor will not return on itself monetarily compared to new content developed in house. As a result, it's not a top priority. I believe we will see an editor, it's just taking time. I'd love to see the editor come out today, but I'm sure there are hurdles we don't know about. Developing software, especially software that will be released to others that has many complexities and unique properties is not easy. I feel the challenge that developing this editor is underestimated, even by DTG themselves initially.
Blood and tears over fixing issues who shouldnt have been at release in the game in the first place? Thats quite... underwhelming to read. Are you going to add working destination displays to the Talent 2 too?
That's a fair argument, I do completely agree with you that it should have been there in the first place. In the general context, what you are saying is correct. I'm afraid, I do not have any information about destination displays included in that update.
