Hello all, TrainGeek08 here back after a week's break with another suggestion, this time it's a loco suggestion for the British core route for Train Sim World 4, that being the Class 180 'Adelante' for East Coast Main Line: Doncaster to Peterborough for services going to/from Sunderland or Bradford heading to/from London King's Cross (services which skip both Doncaster and Peterborough will be AI only like some LNER examples already on the route) Stock included in base DLC: The British Rail Class 180 'Adelante' in Grand Central livery Training (In Training Center): Class 180 Introduction Scenarios: Central Down South: (Difficulty - 2) Drive this Grand Central service from Doncaster to Peterborough whilst following an London-bound LNER service on your way down the main line You'll Be Going Nowhere: (Difficulty - 2) A Class 180 has failed working a Grand Central service to Sunderland and is blocking the flat crossing at Newark which is causing delays, drive a replacement Adelante to drag the unit back to Peterborough where another driver will take it to Bounds Green Depot for repairs It's Grim Up North: (Difficulty - 3) Drive this Grand Central service from Peterborough to Doncaster however the weather is set to turn for the worse, the question is... will you manage to get to Doncaster or not? (features dynamic weather = sun > light cloud > fog) Timetable: Incorporated into current timetable I hope you enjoyed this suggestion, I think the 180 will provide a different driving experience to the Class 801 already included on intercity services on the route but I'd be intrigued to hear your thoughts on this, put them below as ever, I've been TG08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and goodbye
Petition to simulate the 180s problems, Then you'll be going nowhere Would be a very nice addition to the ecml
That would be hilarious but true as the 180s are known for their unreliability Totally agree, it's another new operator to the game and a new train too
The only issue with GC is they don't stop south of Donny until the cross. The 180s would be nice additions to the game.
That is a problem however GC have implemented extra stops at Peterborough in the past but even that isn't a regular occurrence
The problem with this is that Grand Central are owned by arriva and apparently arriva don't want to give out their licence.
If it's of any reconciliation, the Grand Central branded Class 180 is still for sale on steam for TSC, so don't rule it out quite yet. Not sure why this is, as all other Arriva-owned content has been removed from sale. It might have something to do with Grand Central being an open-access operator and thus not having an end date for an operating contract? Personally I don't see much value in adding the Class 180 to TSW as the train is fairly niche and would not add a great deal of services to the routes it has run on. It would be nice to have, but there are other locos I rather see more, such as the Class 91. Again there's Transport for Wales branded content on TSC (North Wales Coastal) and TFW is government owned as opposed to Arriva, which tends to make things more flexible in regards to branding use.
Yeah, a 91 is more logical at this point in time however a 180 could come with a future route and layer onto this one perhaps? If the TSC variant is still for sale, all it needs is the Grand Central logo but without the 'by Arriva' under it, maybe that would work
