York to Newcastle with a Deltic would be an absolute dream route. Perhaps Newcastle to Edinburgh could be in the early noughties with GNER.
Yes, definitely mate! It makes for a more varied experience than just have one long, expanded modern route which is more of the same. The Peterborough - Doncaster is fine for the modern representation of the route and it gives you all the Azuma can possibly offer. Any expansions to that release should be in the stock, not the route mileage. The Class 91 in that LNER intercity livery would be a great start!
We could also then have Peterborough to London in the steam era with A4s. I would love to see all the modern EMU fanboys cry with anger with that lol
Definitely think the GEML is in need of representation. If you set it around the 90s/mk3s and then include the lines to Southend/ Southminster as the main and chelmsford then you get the best of high speed running, semi fast commuter and metro style all stations.
I agree with a GEML, but I would prefer it all the way to Ipswich or better yet Norwich. an ECML south shouldn’t be #1, but it should be something to consider
Norwich is about 140 miles, so I doubt it, even if its sparse beyond Ipswich. I would prefer the branches (Southend/ Southminster/ Braintree) as such, given TSWs limitations, so you at least get a decent length run. But would take anything (Ipswich + Felixstowe branch) Or even just have the Werry Lines!
Norwich is 112 miles actually, 112 miles 27 stations. If it goes to Ipswich then we should get the Southend Victoria, and harwich branches just like in TSC
DTG: You now need to extend the route. The editor appears. do not bother me. We’ve already started making plans for TSW5!
114, just double checked it. It's still beyond the distance of TSW, going by most routes. Although, we can hope, quickest full length run is 90 minutes so It's not too bad playtime wise. But that was only 4 trains a day.
I have to admit that I'm enjoying the ECML more than I thought and I can understand now why they chose to model it - spped, but as I arrive at Peterborough, I just want to continue. I hear some comments that it's boring but isn't that always going to be the case for a long distance high speed route. Ideally I'd like it extending to York and Kings Cross. The mix of routes from Moorgate, Thameslink and LNER would make it BML max. Add to the potential of doing different eras would be amazing but would it be a money maker?
The most popular modern and British route and probably overall due to how popular the ECML is and how heavily suggested it is
The full game isn't even out yet and we're talking about major extensions? It's all good that everyone here wants to see it extended but I think we should wait until we see wider public reactions to the route. If the majority of people don't like either because the don't like the route itself or tsw 4 it will affect the likeyhood of the route seeing anything more added to it. And whilst we’re taking about extensions, how would this even work? DTG have spoken about how combining timetables would be difficult etc and the reason we got an extended SEHS is partly because they could re-package it as a separate dlc for tsw 3, how would it work during tsw 4’s life span?
Start off with shorter extensions, maybe up to Leeds or York, then release London as a big extension in TSW5 maybe. Or maybe as a big bundle of TSW4 is going to have a longer lifespan
People are just disappointed they didn't get a small 30-mile stretch up to York, or down to London (I agree with the York bit though).
Good one, I'd really love it if we could drive from like Acton TC to York Thrall Sidings via the North London line, or just simply Ferme Park to York with some cool RHTT trains
