This has been a problem since, I believe tsw 2, where the textures of random things inside cab and occasionally exterior spots on trains flicker horrendously. With 4 out now, it seems it's gotten even worse. The vectron specifically is HORRIBLE. The right dash monitor is barely recognizable. Does anyone know, is this an Xbox specific issue, or does everyone have this problem? Have dtg ever acknowledged this is a problem?

Now that I see it in the video I remember seeing this on Xbox Series in TSW3. Haven't seen this in the PS5 version also not in TSW3.

I posted about this also mentioned how bad the vectron is.and it's xbox only . Xbox has bad audio and now bad flickering textures . They must be able to sort it because texture issues was not a problem on tsw 1.

Although it looks bad it's aways been there since the first game .I'm not tech savvy buts it's something to do with render draw distance or lod not sure. In cab flickering is called z fighting hope they fix this issue it looks awful on the vectron.

May have been my post on the Vectron feedback you have seen, the issue is at its worst on I would say Vectron and NY Transit cab car of all, but it’s present on a lot of locos.

it’s been noticeable since rush hour I believe. And thus has been on TSW2,3 & now 4 (meaning 2-3 years of this persistent and quite frankly horrid looking issue…)

I believe it’s a texture overlap, 2 textures and both fighting to be on top. Even more annoying part is if that’s the case and it ain’t a core fix, then it will need work to every loco that has it, that goes as far as GWE and possibly Sand Patch. (In other words I can see it getting ignored as an issue, in which case I’m out.)

I try to avoid the dlc where it is (not purchase when theirs obvious issue) but as it seems an Xbox issue it won’t appear in preview streams…

    few other places I remember where it is;

GWE Class 43 - particularly straight in front on things like the class and unit plate inside cab

Acela - Left hand central monitor screen constant flickers

ACS-64 - safety system display panel for ACSES

NJ Transit Cab Car - all of the Right hand side facing forward out of cab window

Vectron - about 8 different places (including right screens, central vents just say behind the main screen on top, word LZB written next to Central monitor, left hand side in I think multiple places.)

Your spot on it doesn’t appear in preview streams because they are always done on pc

    I’ll just leave these here;

Vectron (right 2 screens, all round them)

    ACS-64 (safety systems display panel)

    Acela (central left screen)

What I don't get is what changed between tsw 1 and 2 . Was it the engine change and why does it only effect xbox . Xbox gets the short straw when it comes to audio and visual defects and it needs sorting. Granted they did fix the jack hammer audio but the audio quality is not as good as pc or playstation.

there was an issue with cab textures on at least Xbox when rush hour released, the cab used to completely drop in quality, I have thought it is related to that game engine change.

I only experienced Jack hammer once I think, I’ll gladly take that over this…

Interesting, I wish dtg would atleast acknowledge this.

  14. I think they're up to their ears atm and paddling furiously, but I think there's cause for optimism on the basis of a large increase in engagement here on the forum and also some high quality feedback and suggestions which also appear to be landing on fertile ground.

Same here on Xbox. I first noticed it when tsw 2 became "optimized" for Xbox one X. It's been like it ever since.

couldn’t agree more on that, I don’t think I’ll be using it unless this gets fixed, it’s a shame I really liked the sounds especially with that one and was looking forward to using it.

I've set various tickets for this over the years, but nothing to say it's being looked into, sadly.

Given that this is a years long on-going problem that Xbox owners have been subjected to, I thought I'd tag in the @'s that I have seen being the most active recently on the forums, in the hopes that someone might acknowledge this issue.

I hope that's okay, and apologies in advance if not.

I've also noticed it with the unit numbering on the class 66, on the front of the train. But other than that, it all seems to be cab textures.

yea that’s the only outside issue on it I’ve noticed as-well, most of the issue tends to be around buttons or written words/letters. (Or now Grates for what I’m assuming is AC on the Vectron)

Spot on, exactly how I'd sum it up too. Have you noticed that it seems to be worse on certain trains. By that I mean that on some trains, there is little to no texture flickering. Where as on others (Electrostar for example) there is a lot.

yea it definitely varies rapidly, the strange thing I also find is when it’s on one or 2 monitors/screens buttons but not the others, like what was done differently and please do the same as the one that’s fine.

That does seem to be the case. Also, what I've noticed with the electrostars, is that the textures seem fine when the train is stationary. They only start flickering once the train is moving.

Now admitly I don't really play much German content. But from what I have played, they seem to suffer significantly less with the issue. For example the BR 423 only has a tiny bit of flicker on one the text to the right of the cab. Not always in view so not as easily notable or annoying. (still doesn't mean it should be ignored) but it's very "in your face" on many other trains.

noticed that too (I think on all of them) it only seems to start up once the train is moving but I don’t think it ever stops once it starts (even if the train is stationary again)

another quite bad case for the electrostars

once the crashing gets sorted on xbox, I’m going to go through every loco I have and make sure they’re is a support ticket with a video of the issue is submitted for each

I’ve done the Acela, ACS-64 and Vectron thus far

I think I'll do the same. It's reassuring that they've now acknowledged and pinpointed the Xbox audio issue. Just need the same with this now.

Sadly the textures weren't addressed in the roadmap questions. Although I understand they can't answer everyone's questions :)

Yea, hopefully won’t be left forever and will finally get to enjoy playing TSW4 on Xbox with those loco’s in question.

I’ll keep slipping in the question in the meantime at best places and hopefully find it gets picked up.

I see in the roadmap for TSW5 that audio has finally been addressed on Xbox, but what about this graphical flicker issue?

Has it been fixed at last DTG Matt?

I'm also hopeful of this, last roadmap, there wasn't an easy fix, apparently. But maybe now the sound is sorted, attention could be turned to this? Especially as the Euston route launchea with a 377, one of the worst offenders for this problem.

Last roadmap update, was that it wasn't a quick core fix. Didn't sound too confident that it would ever be fixed. Certainly on already released content.

Plus we have Blurred Texture Issues inside and outside the Trains
It was fixed for Months, but has returned before the 218 was released.
