DTG, why hasn't PS5 players got the ECML yet when PS4 are the only platform as you said who are post to wait till tomorrow. Has the release time for this update, updated to tonight or tomorrow?
I don't think AWS has been fixed for this one... nor do I have other timetables. I now have the platinum medals, however. PS5.
Are the audible warnings actually louder for you in this patch? I haven’t noticed a difference after I updated. Also on PS5.
I think with the controller speaker set to max it's audible but if you don't want to use the controller speaker or can't because you're using Remote Play or headphones then the volume through the main source is far too quiet still. Having the safety systems through the controller speaker should be an option with the fallback being the same audio mix that exists on other platforms. When you step from inside the cab to outside the cab you can notice a change in audio volume level. (This correlates with the setting you have set on external audio alerts)
Yeah glad it works for you definitely doesn't for me. The sound of me hitting the AWS button is louder than the AWS alert itself except when I have my Dualsense audio alerts at 100%, even then way too quiet (and the default is half of that). I can't do that using Remote Play, no controller speaker support. No massive sound difference for me, but like I said they added the platinum medals. Using 5.1 EARC.
Sound is improved but still a little quieter than the class 66. PIS screens on the side of the Azuma are still broken. Only coach A works (on 9 car sets). Font has changed but it only appears briefly. Rest of coaches are blank. Edit: 5 cars sets have the brief appearance on all coaches. It zooms across quickly and vanishes.
Glad you've got it. For a bit of context, we've published the update, but for some reason they've silently 'failed' to publish (despite saying in Sony's back end they have). Looks like ECML, Vorarl, Vectron, and Riesa-Dresden all had similar issues and we've republished them overnight. We've messaged Sony to find out why that might be.
AWS still very quiet and requires you to know when it’s going off to not get an EB (which kinda defeats the point!). Vigilance not making a peep that I can hear :-( Not enjoyable and not playable currently for me on PS5
Can I ask if you received yesterday's update? General feedback I've seen from players post-patch is that the AWS volume is much better.
One thing I have just noticed though is that since the patch the change in audio as you passed through tunnels and under bridges has gone, which is a massive shame and a obvious regression. That was a really neat feature, any chance it can be looked at?

I received yesterdays update and the difference in volume is noticeable between the 801 and the 66. I have recorded a small video clip which I will share here to illustrate my point. Note that I'm seeing platinum medals which I wasn't at launch, so this is clearly an updated version of ECML. US region by the way.
It is louder ( and slightly better) but still not as loud as the 66 and you still struggle to hear it. The 66 is at the perfect level. I’ve turned it off and to zero so it comes through the TV (that’s perfect btw).
IF you download them, from 4pm they will become available to do so, they don’t automatically transfer.
The licenses transfer and the DLC for TSW4 that you have owned in previous versions for Playstation will appear as "Free" but you still have to click each one to claim them for TSW4 which should start downloading them, hopefully for the correct platform.
OK, so I have turned the sound off on the controller and suddenly I can hear stuff! I really like the idea of having the warnings through the controller but they are way too quiet and my old ears cannot hear them over my tinnitus!
While the sounds through the controller are better on ecml, it's still far too quiet and easily missed
Just deleted and reinstalled the entire game and there’s literally no difference. AWS is still inaudible and no sound comes out of the controller at all. Extremely little comes out of the TV but it’s almost silent even with every single volume setting at 100%. The latest version is 1.007.000 so not sure if I got the patch yet but my PS5 says there’s no update available….
Try going to controller settings and reduce the controller volume to 0%, that worked for me as sound then came from tv
That appears to have worked, thanks. But it’s still way too low unfortunately. Can’t believe some players find this volume ideal.
The sound inside of the LNER 801 Azuma is very quiet when i put on the safety system i can't hear it so i start slowing down i have never had this problem before please fix it I am on PS5 I got update yesterday still to quiet
Now when departing if you hear like a locking sound after 2 MPH you have the sound update but if you don't hear that you probably don't have the update.
Hi matt I don't hear that locking sound so will there be another update going out I deleted the game from console and download it again and it is still the same I am in the uk
And I've found some glitches with the update: No.1 with the layers using the class 700 and the 158 there livery's seem not to be there and are just gray. Glitch No.2 I found at night time the passengers seem to be on the wrong light setting so basically they are dark when going in to a tunnel. Idk this this is because of the update or I'm on playstation.
Only slightly. PZB and Sifa alarms are really loud but still very quiet with AWS, and the woman saying TPWS & AWS operational is still way too quiet personally.
