I think there are to much passenger services. Look at Antelope. Less passenger services and (mainline)freight is available. And Union Station looks very busy. Sometimes less is more.
There's a NJT line that runs freight through two stations but I'm willing to bet that line would never be considered to even be a branch line in the game.
the patch notes that went live say that AI freight is indeed on certain parts of NYT despite you writing here that all freight was cut. i’m assuming this is an error in the patch notes and needs to be corrected?
Quite bummed about the news of the missing freight layer. The quality of the route itself is not the best, especially the reused parts from TSW2020, so the saving grace for this route is the rolling stock and the timetable. Due to this reason, I have not bought it yet. If this new timetable ends up being good, I would like to buy it - but the missing freight layer is a big red flag. Also has any other fixes been done to the route? Issues like the AI driving with pantographs down?
So the new timetable has 536 playable services. Broken down as follows ALP46- 192 services Multilevel cab car- 175 Amfleet cab car 26 Acella -45 ACS-64-98
that's only like ~250 more than the regular timetable... are we sure this is right?? Didn't they say something about it being 5x bigger?
I think when they said this, that also includes LIRR services going in and out of NY Penn and maybe the AI Freight
oh welp. :/ yeah, reading back they seemed to mix the "AI" and "playable" bit together in the same sentence, so that explains why the number they reported is rather inflated
It’s worth noting that almost all Amtrak traffic was already in the timetable so it’s 250 additional NJ transit services which seems about right for what was originally missing.
And there’s no static freight. There is some NJT trains static by Harrison yard area and around adam’s yard between jersey avenue and Princeton
I can tell you from what I’m seeing in the map is a real busy route. Looks like the BML and SEHS. Penn station is nonstop trains in and out
What is the performance looking like at Penn station? Is it similar in performance to London Victoria or better?
From the beginning, the information available for this route has been vague. Instead of a list of actual services with headcodes, it has mostly been "more than (insert whatever number) services" or "this many times bigger than before." At least Joe gave us real information; of course it's unfortunate that some of his work will not be realized, but his efforts on both the route and communication are much appreciated. In many ways, this route was not seriously examined by DTG until after its initial release. Based on the reports of MAX1319 I will be playing this route on TSW3, assuming that it does in fact get updated for same. The loss of freight is unfortunate but if this is what it took to finally get a product out the door then so be it. At least there is some passenger static stock which I consider important for immersion. Since I play on Series S, I will avoid picking up LIRR in order to try and avoid crashes on the better timetable. I was on the fence about this anyway because, although the AI would have been nice, I really was having a difficult time paying any money for the weak LIRR DLC. Now at least I don't have to worry about that!
Thanks for the reports, looking forward to giving this a run when I get home… hopefully the wife is taking a nap
If that's the case, then it is great news! Can anyone else confirm? If there are some bugfixes as well, then might buy the route once the updates are released for TSW3. Some proper patch notes would be nice...
PIS still doesn’t work on NJT AI trains Lights for NJT still off during the day. On the LIRR station PIS does show destination
I have seen the LIRR with 8,10, and 12 car formations NJT ALP46/or cab car tail lights still not on for AI trains
Well, yeah... Let's see if they can actually keep this promise. Can't believe that after all these years and 4 iterations of the game we still can't have trains running with lights as they should... What kind of spagghetti nonsense code is this game running on?
Finish my first service and signals seemed to be able to handle all extra services. Secaucus junction is a very busy. Xbox X is handling Penn station well. Only noticed some frame drops with constant trains in out. Now seeing all the AI LIRR at Penn station just now want more than ever for DTG to release an updated LIRR of how it should be
Saw one ALP46 Ai train trailing with head lights on. Also did see one train leave with the doors open but that one actuall had the ALP46 with tail lights on. Go figure
still can't play. all of my routes downloaded except for NEC NYT go figure... don't know how long i'm gonna have to wait for it to be carried over to TSW4
I have. like a dozen times. gonna try restarting the whole PC instead. I uninstalled TSW3 though, I hope that doesn't mess anything up. Was out of space
I believe Dovetail said that in order for all your content to be carried over, you have to have TSW3 installed along side TSW4
That is not required. Steam knows perfectly well which DLC you own, installed or not makes no difference. All you need for importing your profile is the Documents\MyGames\TrainSimWorld3 folder, which will not be uninstalled anyway.
So actually the static trains by adam’s yard are one five car set of Acela. One car four car set of Acela. And five Amfleet Amtrak cars.
I think something similar was in place on some of the original scenarios. It's a stand-in for the Turboliner sets that are stored there IRL.
LIRR makes up for more than a quarter of the 2000 services. Over 500 over them. There were also a lot of AI NJT services added for the Hoboken traffic too.
Joe is like a new route. Amazing job you did. I have been playing nonstop. I just can’t get over how busy it is
Wait ai trains to Hoboken as well(well assuming after Newark and then out the portal once switching to the Hoboken tracks after passing Harrison).
You guys are too kind Yep! The Hoboken services towards Newark Broad Street and beyond can be seen when the two lines run parallel and cross over, if you're there at the right time.
Yes there are lots of services going and coming from Newark broad street. I find myself many times racing the AI train
DTG is working with Steam to get it resolved. For some reason it's not always recognizing that you're entitled to the DLC for TSW4.
Finally got to run this, timetable is outstanding. As a jersey resident, it seems as busy as I know it in real life. This is a fun route now. A few other points: As expected, Penn station (heavy timetable) on PS5 has FPS drops, I would say somewhat similar to what we see at London Victoria. Penalty brakes still activate way too early if there’s a red signal at end of platform. Also, when passing other NJT ALP-46’s, I think I’m hearing a safety system alarm? Haven’t heard this before, wonder if anyone else has picked that up- or maybe I’ve got a few screws loose. Not having freight seems to impact things a lot less than I expected. I’m loving the route regardless.
