Xbox Series X Crashes

I have decided not to uninstall any cause i dont think it will make a difference probably work with just the base game

 

I see a lot of people with Xbox series S | X consoles are experiencing the same issue. I have a Xbox series S. I have nearly the entire collection and i had a awesome time threw pre order it rain amazing and after release i ported all my old stuff from TSW 3 over to TSW 4 and now i can’t even load in the game it crashes before it even loads which is a surprising because i had the same issue or TSW2 and TSW when it went to TSW2020. I bought the deluxe edition and was eagle to play with all the new features and now i can’t even get on the game at all. Long time truly long time player absolutely love this game but this is crazy. I don’t know what to do. I’m not even getting error messages it’s just crashing back to my Home Screen on my console.

PS5 is working fine with content manager.

 

This is completely anecdotal and not very scientific, but it's something I noticed;

Often the first boot up attempt (that crashes) has the little spinning thing at the bottom seem to struggle a lot - stopping and stuttering etc. On a subsequent startup attempt (that loads ok), the spinning thing spins a lot more smoothly and quickly, with fewer hitches.

Is it possible that something is struggling to load into a memory cache of some kind, and as it's already there in a second boot up, the process is more effective?

 

Noticed the same thing! I now quit the game when I see the spinning wheel struggling to move or not moving, and restarts the game. When the wheel spins better, chances are that the game will load. However, even after loading, doing some tasks, and getting back to main menu, will cause a crash.

 

I will attempt to replicate this after work, as I have noticed the wheel stutter

 

Mate we are all getting the same problems i been told there are aware and investigating it and already ps5 players have had a update for creators club tonight yet xbox have this massive problem

 

It’s probably going to take DTG a few days to figure out and fix what’s going wrong with Xbox.

 

Yea probably so cant play it I uninstalled tsw3 so cant do that either im just hoping there is a quick fix to it cause this is ridiculous

 

Alex, this is going to sound extremely facetious, and I truly don't mean to come off as snarky or sarcastic. Was this issue not replicated during beta testing? Or were the testers only given access to the base game with the new DLC, with no implementation of any of the legacy content?

Many of us don't have the time to remove and then to re-download DLC again and again.. After work, I just want to relax with my favorite route and then switching to some other routes after that. TSW3 had had no problems with my full DLC load.

 

I mainly play UK routes, so I've now uninstalled all other dlc (kept 1 german passenger/freight & 1 american passenger/freight route).

TSW4 loaded up straight away, and really quickly. No issues so far either. Not an ideal solution because i sometimes do fancy a bit of variety, but short term at least i can play the routes I enjoy, without the frustration of repeated crashes.

 

Im gonna keep all my content, DTG you blew it you do it All hands on deck QA sit in front of your xbxes full of addons and search, do your job, we made ours - paid you

 

By keeping an eye on the spinning wheel, and quiting the game when I see massive stutters or freezing on the wheel, and then restarting, I was able to play 2 scenarios on Cajon Pass, and going back to main menu without crashing. So at least, with 69 DLC"s installed, Cajon Pass at least is not crashing the game. Other routes crashes at going back to main menu.

Maybe spoke too soon... had 2 more crashes just trying to load ECML up, timetable>on foot, to get collectables

 

I’m having the aforementioned crash issues on my Series S. Hoping it’ll be resolved very soon as I’m wanting to mix and match my free roam routes here haha

 

This worked for me, took three or four tries, but we got there...

I uninstalled a few of the routes though it was down to the fact that I never really played them. Hopefully the DTG lot will get this all rectified as soon as possible but it’s a bit perplexing as to why it’s only Xbox users having these crash issues

its been okay for me with a crash every 20-30 mins, doing a Flying scotsman scenario and its handled it well

 

I had some success with a couple runs earlier on but it’s kept on crashing on the load screen for me

 

Okay, so I was able to complete one of the Acela scenarios on Boston - Providence with no issues. Even got back to the main screen without a crash. Pushed my luck with NY - Trenton and wanted to see how it handled a busy Penn Station in Timetable mode... it didn't. Crashed back to the dashboard and now the game once again won't load immediately.

 

I am seeing this as well. Once you get a crash from within a successful loaded game, it takes longer to get back loading the game again.

I am baffled on how this crashing issues were missed during testing?

I am doing some scenarios on Peak Forest now.

 

So far,after about an hour of messing around in Peak Forest, and selecting to go back to main menu, NO crashes. Touch wood. Cajon Pass and Peak Forest seems stable so far with my 70 DLC fully loaded. Will keep testing and will note where I will get the next crash.

 

Apart from the usual suspects (loading screen crashing), I was able to complete a scenario on spirit Of Steam, and was able to go back to main menu, without crashing.

 

Mine kept crashing when I was trying to boot up the game earlier. I managed to get through after what? 5 attempts? Have most of my DLC downloaded into the game and played a few services on Antelope Valley Line and just did a 700 service on SEHS.

 

deinstalling the DB BR 204 DLC seems to fix it for me

Yes, it’s happening to me on my Xbox One X. Very similar behaviour to what others are describing in this thread, although not quite as frequently as others are experiencing.

It crashes back to the Home Screen, but I’ve not been able to discern a pattern. Got one crash mid-way using scenario planner. Another when ending a run and going back to the menu.

 

UPDATE: I uninstalled 4 DLC's (Arosa, Holiday, Sherman Hill, and WCL) and it still crashes on launch to dashboard.

In my experience, on the Series X when booting the console up is a 50/50 shot as to whether the game will load or crash to dashboard. I have Deluxe Editon with 58 Add-ons totaling just under 238 GB. When it keeps crashing, I'll unplug the console for 30 seconds and that makes it work 50% of the time. I hope you guys like this list.

DTG, is this problem taken seriously by your teams?

can we hope for a quick patch? as a reminder, in addition to the Add ons at the substantial price there is now the price of the TSW4 game! all unstable and unplayable as it stands!!

70 Add on... approximately.... at 30 euros the add on... !!!2100 euros!!! + TSW games Price ... making it playable would be the priority!

The second BIG issue is optimalization, all of the big timetables NYT, ECML, SEHS permanently crash to ui during loading. DTG don't tell us to ininstall the problem... you dont know what the problem is and this kind of advice shows your desperation "just tell them whatever for now", uninstaling is not even a temporary solution as examples on this thread shows. OUT OF VIDEO MEMORY ERROR (NYT new timetable) make this issue much more severe in my opinion, maybe your addon manager is to heavy on memory?..

to release train sim World 4, barely 1 year, after train sim World 3, was it wise??

resolving the problems present since TSW2, at least, would perhaps have been more judicious, right? (clacking sounds trains on Xbox , graphics bug under bogies (flash white ), motion blur still poorly managed and pixels, task validation bug ((which I have just, once again, lost between TSW3 and TSW4!!), bug of scenario and so on).

do you understand ? that we, players AND customers who have left a certain amount of money, are becoming more and more unhappy? with this impression of being priced for a full wallet, more than a player.....

 

So it seems to be pot luck, I’ve uninstalled various items and it still crashes, I’m getting fed up of it now and I’m very very close to requesting a refund

 

Hey Jan how much addons do you want us to remove? Because this Mate has just 5 addons and still experience the same problem?

Yeah but 3 didn't due to Sony's play has no limits 65GB DLC limit!

 

Uninstalled arosa line and it booted up fine, may have found your problem

edit - 12pm no problems since uninstalling arosa line

 

I notice everything is still "New", guessing they never fixed that TSW3 bug yet in TSW4 then?

For me it was the Br 204, only just now had a out of memory crash as of 8:03am EST
