https://steamdb.info/app/530070/history/ Achievements showed up for scenarios for a DB 155. Possible leak for the next loco DLC?
I think they have many more german DLCs in mind for us, but i think the next DLC will probably be based elsewhere, like in the US or the UK.
I agree. However, when achievements start showing up on Steam for a dlc that usually means it’s somewhat in the final stages of development.
I 100% agree. Japan, France, Aus/Nz - hell, India would be neat/nuts. Im assuming we only get the three at present because its easy to add rolling stock locos routes signaling etc to the same "framework".
Everything is about licences and high quality resource informations. It seams that Deutsche Bahn is very good partner to support DTG so they are using what is offered.
I didn't know that there are freight trains on the Rapid Transit route. Maybe we could get some freight services with the BR 182 and some reused vagons.
Ok... yeah, I certainly wasn't expecting this if this is the case. We've seen a lot of German stuff, and I'm fine with German stuff, don't get me wrong, but at this point I just want the next US route. DTG's choices of DLC works in mysterious ways... I'll probably still buy it when its on sale, though, I'm a sucker for boxy locomotives like this.
Also worth noting that, by number of driving cabs, the UK is still in the lead in TSW, but Germany does seem to have enough. US: 6 UK: 8 DE: 7 (or maybe 8 now) Note that I counted similar locos separately- the NTP class 47 and the WSR class 47 are both class 47's but they are different. Same thing with the Doppelstock in RSN and the doppelstock in MSB (I'm guessing the doppelstock with the 182 is like the one in MSB, so it doesn't count) Without that: US: 6 UK: 7 DE: 6 - 7 So yeah, while all this new German stuff is great, maybe they shouldn't go too crazy. We're also going to get tired of too many releases from the same country in a row- this would be the 3rd German release. Maybe they're trying to get everything to 7 or something, which would mean that the next US route should have one new locomotive (and one heavily modified one?), who knows. ...but, actually, nobody said this locomotive was being released as the next DLC, or really anytime soon. If this releases closer to the next German route (route after the next one), there won't be any real preference towards German content at all.
Also, all the achievements have the word "power" in them. These names, especially "Power Grid," make me think this would come with coal wagons. No opinions on this post, just trying to guess the details here.
I've looked up the achievements by using the images provided by SteamDB, and those are them: {subject to change of course if DTG changes their mind} BR 155: Power Grid -> Complete 15 services BR 155: Power Drive -> COMPLETE_SCENARIO_1 It doesn't say which scenario, so this one is not clear BR 155: Power Full -> Complete the tutorial for the BR 155 BR 155: Power Surge -> Drive 1550 KM with the BR 155 BR 155: Power Up -> Reach loco level 10 in the BR 155 Most of this was already pretty clear, but I still wanted to make this post as it summarizes all of the now-known achievements for this leaked loco. Most of them were already known, but "Power Surge" I could only get to know the distance of by using the earlier mentioned method.
Given that MSB is in need of a diesel loco. Ntp is expecting a freight train. Im thinking that now we have routes and layers. There wont be an established order to dlc. It will just appear as and when ready.
i think some other dlc will come first but i also think now with more routes out we will increasingly see more and more route add ons
BASELESS SPECULATION: Could it be we're getting more German motive power because they've already done the base scripting and simugraph mapping for other similar units so it's easier for them to churn out "more of the same" or at least similar rather than working on other, quite different power units? Dmitri did say last week that the thing that slows down production WAS power units because they take a lot longer to develop than routes do
Potentially, even so im not complaining, am a uk rail fan but after all the german dlcs im starting to really enjoy it especially the pzb challenge
I mean what I said. They've done the hardest part in getting the physics and simugraph done for german electrics so it's easier to make more of those than to do something different
your idea makes sense too as to why they havent released a diesel add on and supposdley the next one wont be either
Yeah, I don't think this would be for RT. The Talent 2's and the 155's run in many different places throughout the country, and RT doesn't have a lot of room for freight action
Exactly what I was thinking, just because it's ready in advance doesn't mean they won't space it out more evenly. Very interesting point, it would also explain why we haven't seen German diesels yet.
Because the simugraph would presumably be substantially different whereas electrics possibly (limited knowledge on my part here) are more comparable to each other
One thing you still have not thought about: What if this Loco belongs to a new German route and the DTG unintentionally leaked its data?
I find that unlikely because they've just released a German route, and today a German loco DLC. Doesn't mean there's none in the works, but i doubt this loco is part of a route.
After spend a lot of time to reconstructing PZB in RT and launch one German Loco, why DTG is Going to launch new German content?
[ Because people might buy it if they have fixed the issues that were stopping people doing so previously. If they've fixed core problems like signalling and PZB then it would make sense to dump out a few units (which they may have been working on in the background for weeks or more) which will bring in money quickly. Makes financial sense, even if it's copycat units in the end
And before anyone brings up "cynical profiteering", I would actually agree with the strategy if true. More money for less work means greater productivity for DTG and therefore more DLC in future. I'm sure nobody would mind more varied and lively routes either.
Yes I agree. I just wish for a modern UK loco of relevance to todays operations, not putting down older locos, but COME ONNNNNN.
In theory since the GWE is set in the electrification transition period. Could we squeeze in a plain white Hitatchi diesel mode 800? GWR hadn't branded them at this point? Wouldnt that then free it up for community editing? Would love a class 60 with tanks or heavy stone wagons too.
