I know nothing about Achaffenburg - Miltenburg but I looks pretty good from those shots. I think the scenery and hopefully the 642 will make up for the length.

First reaction to the new German route: not one that I'd have thought of, but it looks scenic, and the 642 is both nice and has layer potential. Looking forward to seeing it.

Glad to see the Azuma wires will be put in place.

no word on Z-Fighting issue on Xbox though, eagerly hoping to see some response to this longstanding issue once you’ve sorted out crashing.

you know the scenery with Blackpool route is great when you notice the Big Dipper Cone after being they’re to good memory once over 10 years ago :D

The main point id like to bring up is the OHLE.

I assumed that only the catenary & contact wire being ‘improved’ was down to a bug/oversight - not that it was knowingly made this way.

IMO the change needs reverting all together now, if the remaining cabling on the OLE isn’t going to be looked at ASAP, it simply cannot remain in this state, as it looks ridiculous.

Hm…. Was hoping for a bigger german route as first one on TSW4. Interesting one but no day 1 route for me

I and Trainsimulatordriver are waiting for PC/Xbox controller B command for acknowledging AWS and louder warning sound on The Flying Scotsman and TPWS B PC/Xbox button on Class 43 MML.

So with the Formation Designer, how will creators club liveries work for it? Will it work like the how the preset formations work? Where 1 car gets the same livery? Or can it be made where we can set a specific car for a specific livery?

Quite a bit in the pipeline, but another German diesel route means we still have no main line locos to run on it. Please stop distracting Maik so he can finish the 232 and 218!

Looks like a fair bit of content incoming, will be interested to learn what the Rivet Swiss route is.

I think it's great that the BR642 is finally making its Way to TSW but I hate that it will most likely only come in the BWegt livery. I wish it would also come in a Generic DB Regio Livery

The new BR 642 looks stunning, hopefully the route itself will be interesting as well. Good to hear about the slightly reduced price. Apart from that, pretty standard roadmap without many surprises. Hopefully we’ll get some concrete news on the 3rd party content in the 0-3 months range soon.

No word on adding an option for the distance counter instead of the barber pole for the minimal HUD? It's incredibly immersion breaking toggling CTRL+1 on and off to check my distance to the objective.
Please do not delay an update for the mini HUD until you have made a large overhaul to the barber pole system as the distance counter is already functional in the normal HUD. I just want that available in the minimal HUD. No need to reinvent the wheel!

Also looking forward to the improved suspension physics. A good start was made with the 323, obviously it was too bouncy there so looking forward to how much progress will be made in the future.

Whilst you wait for a distance counter to make it to the mini hud you could take this opportunity to learn the route so you know when to start breaking etc.

The mini hud is a joke I was doing 801 service earlier and after completing a objective it totally disappeared and no amount of changing hud and reselecting minimal hud got it working

Would have been nice to see the Maintalbahn route run all the way to Wertheim since 36 kilometres is quite short, though I'm happy to see it's reduced in price - one to get in a sale at some point!

Blackpool-Ormskirk is looking as great as ever, really looking forward to it being released.

I am not planning to learn 49 different routes from 7 different countries. Besides, some routes the platform markers are missing. Other routes you have to stop right on the objective marker to move on the the next objective. The current mini HUD barber pole is not even accurate to where the objective marker actually is. I have seen it up to 90 meters off! So even if I had the route knowledge for every DLC, the distance to the game's objective is necessary.

sorry if this has already been asked but this update with the patches etc has it only been rolled out this afternoon or as of this morning ?

I only ask as I've had a 1.1 GB update to TSW4 on steam this morning and wasn't sure if that was the update that been mentioned along side the roadmap or if we have another big patch to go at some stage in next 24 hrs ?

For now I suggest you use the old hud again and press ctrl 5 to remove the speedometer, then you've got the mini hud in the old style.

FYI - videos are not showing up in DTL articles on iPad Safari. It has been an issue for some time now. Maybe your web developer can look at this?

Hoping the UK route is GEML with Class 345s and 720s and the Loco Pack from "a new partner" is ATS with a TSW version of their Class 745 to finish off that route.

    I can but dream.

Seems like good stuff on here. Like that they are prioritizing bug fixes for the TSW4 launch ahead of rushing out new content.

New German route looks good and JT's route looks like a real winner- seems like fantastic attention to detail and an interesting setting.

Was hoping formation editor would be farther along in progress tbh. Free roam is fantastic but a few more improvements would make it truly special.

Not sure if the right place to ask, but the article showed a couple WIP projects made by the PC editor- how will we eventually be able to get them into TSW? Creators club? Steam workshop?

I always allow cookies when asked and have always allowed them for DTL. There was a time when DTL asked me to allow cookies every time I went to it. It doesn’t do that any more as far as I can tell. I went to the bottom of the page and to my surprise there was actually a link to let me allow cookies. DTG may have to check their cookies system is working properly as I’ve never had to manually allow cookies on any website before, only ever respond to a prompt to allow them.

I'm a bit "surprised", too. The BW in BWegt stands for Baden Wurttemberg, while Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg are in Bavaria. Is that accurate to the original?

The Westfrankenbahn network extends into Baden-Wuerttemberg, which is why they have BWegt branding.

Well, that’s not entirely accurate. There are some privately owned ones.
    IMG_6628.jpeg
(my own photo taken a bit more than a month ago)

That being said, those are indeed some select few and not the norm. I enjoyed the blue V60s very much in the beginning, but it is decidedly odd to have them be the ‘standard’ German shunter in TSW when it should be a red V60 or far more appropriately a V90.

Very excited about the Maintalbahn, as two stations are already included in the Main-Spessart.Bahn. I somewhat wish merging would be possible.

Happy to hear that the " full fat " timetable for NYT will be retained. Didn't really think it was in serious danger, but good to know from MP that it's here to stay.

Don‘t know what you heard as I didn‘t watch the stream, but the centenary pack was already announced in the TSW4 FAQ long ago, where it was also said that Venctron and Scotsman will release one month later separately

Will the new German route add services to Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg Laufach Heigenbrücken Lohr Gemünden Am Main Würzburg Hbf or not? If Yes 642 on the port Branch.
Regarding the ATS route is it TSC Fen Line or the Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street via Chat moss a TSC route.

It's extremely odd considering they have the correct red version, just need to use it. Or hell, use the G6 or 204... or all of them. What is it now? A fourth route with the blue one? Only one of which (Niddertalbahn) was accurate?

It’s highly likely that the decision has come down to “well we have a red train so let’s use the blue one now”.

Hopefully substitutions are enabled so I don’t see as much of it.

Or the red one is deemed outdated? Because only the blue one was released with anything TSW3-related. So maybe some tech in it is outdated as they only chose the blue. Still... G6 is silver and green, it could've been used.

Was very much looking forward to the announcement of the new German route, however I think that it being Maintalbahn Aschaffenburg-Miltenberg is a little underwhelming for me personally as I'm not a fan of single track routes. Also, frustrating that for TSW 4's first German route - and the first modern German route since Kassel-Wurzburg - it's small and single track route, especially so soon after Niddertalbahn. However, the choice of loco does keep me interested thanks to the 642, as well as the modern iteration of the 628.

With Aschaffenburg included, anyone else really wish that MSB gets a TOD 4/timetable revamp - I certainly would! Even better if the route could finally extend to Wurzburg.

I think I would more vote for a general scenery upgrade on routes like MSB, over services. But yea wouldn’t complain at any improved timetables, they’re most welcome.
