DTG I posted this in the TSC forums to let TSC owners know that TSW4 which I don't own now has an editor in beta form as lots of TSC owners are using the excuse not to go to TSW4 because it has no editor.

I'm using it and once you get into it it's a powerful tool. But: The single biggest disadvantage is you cannot modify DLC like in TSC. Tree floating in the air? Ctrl+E, drag it down, Play, fixed on the fly, no problem here. In TSW you cannot edit what's there, you can only add a layer and add place your assets there. So you can add but not (re)move exisiting assets. That's not due to the Editor but to the Unreal cooking process. Once exported, can't be reimported, you need the source files. (Same as loading an unserzed .bin into BlueprintEditor2.exe fails, but the route files are not cooked in TSC.)
If it was in the right forum DTG wouldn't have moved it. As I don't own TSW4 I'm not going to do any figuring, and I'll let you do the explaining.
You cannot modify a route that already exists or existing assets, let's be clear here. You can create new timetables and scenarios for existing routes as well as creating new routes and trains. Also, potentially you can create reskins. So, to say it's useless is doing it a disservice. You just can't go and edit the existing stuff. If that's a dealbreaker for you, then that's fair enough. However, over time the content available will increase as the community learns and develops some potentially awesome stuff for the game.
