Loss of life warning in Glasgow for flooding and amber weather warning across the north of the UK and England.
Just saying ANY service in Scotland will not be running. That includes fife circular and Jacobite wich have not been updated yet. There is no way companies will be running them. I do hope the weather clears up by next weekend though. I'm booked to go up the west highland line that weekend.
I am not in the UK, but I work for a railroad too, and the only time I've ever seen our company suspend service on the entire system was due to a real bad ice storm that made it not possible to safely operate trains. I've never seen that since, and we've had ice storms since, trains still ran, but were empty.
rail advent has a calender which shows railtour services both passenger & empty stock moves (useful for finding nearby tours to spot) https://www.railadvent.co.uk/railtours you can also click on them for more info and links to Realtimetrains
I'm due to go up the west highland line this weekend. First stop is dalmuir. The train goes through THOSE tunnels! I really hope it doesn't get cancelled!
