that Class 385 has about the poorest forward view of any EMU and the cab looks really claustrofobic in the game. How are the walkways perceived by the passengers, since these walkways tend to get leaky and drafty, and dirty, when the bellows and drop steps aren't properly maintained?
And there are no instructions regarding Door operation apart from indications to say the doors are open or closed
They are pretty cramped irl. It is what caused the delay in service to them. The driving position and windscreens delayed them entering service
Which is what I said if you read my post you quoted. I am VERY familiar with what is the Inver Clyde lines being from glasgow and working on the railways for 17 years lol
You quite clearly said "Inverclyde is the area that covers Ayr, Largs, Gourock, Wemyss Bay and Ardrossan."
Why argue? Yes Ayr, Largs, Gourock, Wemyss Bay and Ardrossan are technically in the Clyde Estuary. Wiki would suggest the following :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverclyde_Line And??
Just for the sake of distinguishing it - especially in the topic of "what lines we have" it's helpful not to throw them into one basket. Also, as an Inverclyde resident, we don't claim Ayr as our territory
I have to say that I am very impressed with Alans work on this route it is very highly detailed and the announcements are a bonus as well as the immersive sounds he's put in, it always bothers me that other devs do not take the care and attention that Alan does to his in game audio. 10 out of 10 from me.
There is always gonna be haters. I have run the whole DLC and enjoyed it. It is really 1/2 a route as the Queen St end was already in the previous iteration of this route. Respectfully
I do not think it will be in the sale as it has only just been released. Maybe in the Christmas one. I am waiting for it to come down. £30 seem a bit much for me at the moment
The 385's poor window view is compensated by a camera IRL, displaying the track view on a monitor in the cab.
I bought this route shortly after its release and I have to say its been a fantastic purchase for me. Great detail, love the 385, even running quick drives with all the announcements is very immersive in my opinion, well worth getting if you haven't done so already!
Hi all, update on the EULA as there were a few questions around this on launch... For those not aware the EULA is in place with this route to prevent not tested updates causing issues with the route and to reduce customer support enquiries. This EULA also prevents and commercial use of content created by Thomson Interactive. We're happy to support this, and we have spoken with the developer about this to clarify his position. If you're putting out free content that's absolutely fine. Commercial use would also be considered, but for that you must get in touch with the developer first for official approval. Hope this helps, feel free to post if you have any questions.
Well Thomson have always had a habit of crippling their assets anyway, so that if you place them in a personal route project you cannot then reselect to move, rotate or otherwise manipulate them. There is a way round that but it involves changing a value in the bin file for each and every asset you wish to use which in turn requires unpacking the ap file (both accomplished with RW Tools). I really can't understand why Thomson do this given that a freeware route that references assets from a payware route may actually increase purchases of the latter which otherwise might not have been the case.
