After hitting Ctrl-W by mistake and opening the editor I was unable to figure out how to get back to the game again. So I hit the windows button and then closed the running TSC. Surely there must be a better way to do that. Please advice.
I had the same question a couple years ago and the answer was, there isn't. There might be an assumption that people editing will use windowed mode with borders and just hit X on the top right. Pretty sure I tried Alt-F4 and it didn't work. Our context was "how to exit without saving". I think the Esc menu could use an option.
Ah I see. Thanks. Seems this is an easy bug for the team to fix. But it probably is not, otherwise they would have done so a decade ago
If you were driving and accidentally lauched the editor, Just press the big Play button in the bottom right corner (the sideways triangle) and it will take you back into the scenario. From there you can keep driving, or quit the scenario and go back to the menu. I agree we need a direct quit to menu option from the editor and a quit without saving for when you make a big enough error that the undo button can't fix.
I'm currently stucking in the Editor, having the same problem. As mentioned above, I can't exit without saving. I replaced some OLE out of curiosity and hitting on the green play button lets me get out but only when saving. I guess I have to shut down the game with the Task Manager and reload the scenario to my last save point. Bad. Never thought that one can access the editor mode and edit the route while playing the game in TSC. This is totally different to the TSW Editor, which can't be accessed through the main game's menu, not to think about at runtime editing a level.
While it's a bit radical, turning off the power to the PC will quit without saving. A gentler way is to start task manager and end TSC. In short, there is no way to quit without saving and return to the game.
