Recently I tried to run the ICE 3 (406) on the LGV route, since I had noticed that it had the OHLE system screen on the left monitor. I started at Marseille in free roam and I set a route to Avigon, before lowering the pantograph and setting it to SNCF 1,5 kv since that is the electrification in Marseille. I then raised the pantograph and closed the MCB but I was unable to obtain power. Irl, the Ice 3m is able to use the 1.5 kv Dc and the LGV OHLE, and I'm pretty sure a different pantograph was raised in game, but I just wanted to know whether I missed anything or if it just doesnt work on that setting in the game, though surely if it didnt they wouldnt have put it in the menu? wikipedia page for the ICE OHLE
It may just be simply not programmed into the ICE's abilities. Similar to the 387s AC pantograph.. it's is just there/ defunct etc. I suspect it's a legacy, wasn't intended to run on the route out of off-the-rails mode
i thought the 387's panto worked? oh well. I kinda expected that but it was selectable so I thought it might work.
For DTG they need to have the working pantograph physics on ICE 3M. If it did ICE 3 will use the 4th & 5th carriage 25kv ac 1.45m strip width on LGV AC section DC segment 3rd and 6th carriage source is German Wikipedia on ICE3M. writing my comment from Providence, RI Theodore Francis Green Airport station area which is located off the map on NEC Boston-Trenton Providence, RI Boston., MA section.
387 pan does work. Hold AC system select for 8 seconds then hold the pan up button for another 8 seconds
The 387's panto does work! There's a scenario on CC that has it running through the tunnels to St Pancras on SEHS.
shame really, would have been fun to push the ice to its limits on a nice long run and not round the same loop over and over (cough training centre cough) but ig its an off the rails scenario thing
tbh i reckon they should just put it in but use the german physics, just for some fun. I mean its not really designed for that route anyway so you couldnt really complain about the dodgy physics but it would be a nice touch. not sure about the feasability though
funny they did that on the vectron when it doesnt even have services around lets say france (or on the LGV at least) sooo for the sake of free roam, probably?
It will. The Vectron (MS) is currently being tested to get all the authorizations from the EPSF. After being homologated it will start running in France in 2024. There’s the Belgian Vectron which is approved for France since 2017 but only on 25Kv AC under big restrictions, it goes there very very very rarely. So that explains why the Vectron was pre-fitted to run there.
I mean that's the thing, it's just a free roam benefit and if they can do it there, they should be able to do it on others.
I seem to have the same problem in TSW 5. This time on the kinzigtalbahn (I’m not going to try and spell it correctly, I just suck). I made a custom 10 car BR 403 DB, and I tried raising the pantograph, but it just wouldn’t. It’s weird really
