this has been answered in another thread: no. each panto supports a specific set of systems/countries, selecting front/back would make no sense on this type of Vectron. I know it looks ugly seeing the front panto up when driving in cab 2 but I promise, you'll get used to it.
To argue that bit slightly. With the BR 185.5, that is a multi voltage network Traax but you can still change to the front pantograph @ 1.5kV. I do it with the lead loco when double headding or when hauling tanks auto racks next to the loco. Granted the Vectron region pantograph the probably set up differently. I was able to use the Swiss and DB settings on the same route. Both at 15kV but different pantographs.
The 185.5 only has two different sets of pantographs, whereas the Vectron requires four, as it is certified for much more countries then the modelled Traxx.
Hi, is there any list of routes for which the Vectron has timetable services please? is it just Riesa-Dresden and Vorarlberg routes or there's more? Additionally, I saw some videos with the Czech Vectron and coaches. The video is here: Would anyone be able to advise where this could be downloaded? Thank you very much!
I don't speak german, but I was still able to understand that it should be available in creators club, he says that in the beginning.
Hi, thanks a lot... I was actually searching there and could not find it on my first attempt, but I will take another look, thanks!
What happens if you need to haul a train of gasoline tankers or a car train with a Vectron then? I mean, you don't really want to be running that train with the rear pantograph raised, especially in the middle of winter when the OHLE is covered with ice, as the pantograph will be sparking like crazy. One spark in the wrong place and your train goes boom, and good luck explaining the damaged paintwork and windscreens on those cars when they're unloaded at the destination.
Well, this happens: Source Source I have seen lots of pictures with the ‘correct’ panto up though so I assume the locos are turned somewhere if it’s easily doable but otherwise they just run the way they are.
