according to some people, you can not cook files/mods/whatever with it yet, because that feature is somehow missing. is it already known when it will be fixed so mods can be cooked and published? there are a few ones I personally am waiting for by some great modders but the wait will be long if it won't be fixed
I'd imagine the priority is fixing the rather major xbox crashes before they can look at fixing the editor - after all one stops people playing the game - one does not.
Such is the state at the moment. Your issue isn't as bad as the issue we've caused over there. Something not quite sitting well about selling a product, then telling your patrons to form an orderly queue, to get what they thought they were paying for, in the form of an update. People aren't asking for it to be resolved today, this week or even this month, but how about some proper acknowledgement.
Hello MoRoN222, aren't you a DTG Ambassador? If so you could feature this query in one of the informative unbiased videos that this team of highly respected and influential people put out as an indispensable service to customers. Failing that it is very likely that the patch/fix has already been written and that DTG are just waiting for a suitable release window. It may take a year or more for this magical window to be found at which point it will only be available for people who have bought TSW5 but hey... You can't expect everything to be served on a plate to you for free. Honestly, the answer is pretty obvious.
no. I don't want to say unfortunately but I don't even make proper TSW content anyways so thats not on my bucket list
They are therefore not the same as ours. Arf I regret the time when the games were released with a minimum of bugs without a D-Day patch, without 1 million DLCs.... etc. Yes, 30 years ago, games came out like that, we got what we paid for. Maybe I'm too old to continue playing anymore, when I started 45 years ago it was less beautiful, but it was more fun and the customer was more important than today.... I still play the "old" game (yesterday Colin Mac Rae 1 on PS1 finally the pcsx1 emulator) and I had a blast I must say. In short, it's like that, money is money, not true..
Most companies who want to ensure their survival and continue operating profitably do their utmost to avoid alienating huge swathes of their customer base. That is not how DTG do things and the ever increasing negative feedback and animosity on numerous platforms is an unmistakeable sign of that. DTG only care about short term gain to get that customer wonga into the bank account and then move on to the next half baked buggy DLC or unwanted "new" rebranded old game to keep the cash flow churning. DTG are now finding out that goodwill and loyalty is not a bottomless pit from which they can perpetually guzzle away like some grotesque corporate parasite.
Honestly, I would prefer fixes of editor bugs that are getting in the way of creating the content (like core UE4 features being broken in the TSW editor) before figuring out how to export said content into the release version of the game. I mean it's only been 3 weeks since we got access and the documentation is still very much non-existent. I doubt the are many people sitting on finished content. On the other hand, it's clear that the PC version will be wild compared to the console versions once the mods come out.
After a brief foray I am no longer doing anything with the editor until it is in a much less incomplete state and has some proper documentation (not YT teach ins) to at least cover the basics. Kudos to the clever few who have managed to make something out of it but it seems to my cynical view as with many other aspects of TSW4, the editor was thrown in to sweeten the deal even though not really fit for public consumption.
https://tsweditor.github.io/docs/installhttps://tsweditor.github.io/docs/install The unofficial editor is pretty close to the TSW4 version there is documentation and a tsw forum thread on getting small changes in, then expanding, when the official editor is in a fit state to take seriously.
I hope full modding capabilities will come back. They haven't promised. If not, I'd suggest shipping two versions, a WindowsNoEditor and a Windows (Editor) version.
