Hello all, TG08 here, and today I'm suggesting the Class 156 for Skyhook Games' Midland Main Line as it could offer another class of train to do stopping services other than seeing just 158s as I would have presumed that EMT ran 156s on their stopping services to/from Leicester Loco Information: The British Rail Class 156 Super Sprinter is a diesel multiple unit passenger train. A total of 114 sets were built between 1987 and 1989 for British Rail by Metro-Cammell's Washwood Heath works. They were built to replace elderly first-generation DMUs and locomotive-hauled passenger trains. Loco included in base DLC: The British Rail Class 156 'Super Sprinter' in East Midlands Trains livery Training (In Training Center): Class 156 Introduction Scenarios: Sprinter Rescue: (Difficulty - 2) A Class 158 has failed at Long Eaton, so drive this 156 from Etches Park to rescue it and take it to Nottingham Eastcroft for maintenance East Etches Croft: (Difficulty - 1) Drive this Class 156 ECS from Nottingham Eastcroft to Derby Etches Park as another Class 156 is doing the same move but in the opposite direction to replace your 156 at Eastcroft Double Five Six: (Difficulty - 3) A HST has broken down and has been moved onto the slow lines at Loughborough, drive this 156 from Nottingham to Leicester but since the failed HST is blocking the slow lines, you will run on the fast lines from East Midlands Parkway to Leicester and only stopping at Loughborough whilst doing so Timetable: Incorporated into base routes' timetable on Class 158-operated services Sounds: Here is how the 156 should sound in this DLC: I hope you have enjoyed this suggestion, if you have, put your thoughts below as per usual, I've been TrainGeek08, enjoy the rest of your day, and goodbye
YES YES YES!!! THIS IS MY LOCAL TRAIN! I'D LOVE A ROUTE WITH A 156!!! IT SOUNDS SO POWERFUL! WHO WOULDN'T????! GREAT SUGGESTION!
Would be better if featured in another East Midlands route such as Derby to Sheffield and Matlock or Nottingham to Lincoln, then layered back onto Derby-Nottingham-Leicester. Just adding it as a DLC for a route we already have wouldn't add much additional gameplay as it would only substitute in for services already operated by the Class 158.
Hell yea by skyhook! They did a brilliant job on the 158! Would love for them to do the class 156 just as well!
Or... Ya know... A Scottish route: Glasgow South Western Glasgow - East Kilbride Glasgow - Edinburgh via Shotts (2015) West Highland Line All beautiful routes and far better liveries than the EMT imo.
Absolutely brilliant suggestion mate, as said above they do really rev up and have a great sense of power when starting. I also thing they look great in the EMT livery, along with all of their other modern (post 2010) liveries.
Would be nice to have but if a Class 156 were in Scotrail configuration, it couldn't then realistically layer onto an East Midlands route as suggested here.
Any reason why? I mean they did the 158 sounds to the best of their ability and this would give them another shot to getting a Sprinter correct
That's fair, from a gameplay perspective it would really be the same as the 158 but if developed for another route first, then it could layer like you say
I agree mate, it would be nice to have another Sprinter in game to complement the 150 and 158 The EMT livery looked great on them as well
Oh yeah, that's right... Skyhook did the model and passed it onto DTG to implement sounds and physics
Definitely agree with you and speaking of the class 156 it usually combines itself with a class 158 on this route
Yep, it would add that extra variety on the route so it isn't 158s on all the stopping services as I said in the introductory sentence
Yep, AP sounds are a necessity at this point in order to have as accurate to the real train as the sounds can be
Either way, credit is due and if a Class 156 is required for MML, just repeat what happened with the 158 (unless there is limited development time)
Oh I agree cwf.green does really good work. They worked on the Vectron as well, which is also one of the best modeled trains in the game. Frankly, the more trains they work on, the better for everyone lol.
