Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Each week's winner becomes Judge & Jury for the week (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum The theme this week is Freestyle Entries will close at 9:00 PM BST (8pm GMT) on Friday, October 20th and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this week's winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, October 22nd, a new thread will be created using the theme of Freestyle. Good luck and have fun!
To kick things off - here is a nice example of a well-populated QD scenario. The route is my Cambs/ECML thing (set to 1950s appearance), foreground loco is my D16/3 'Claud' with an 8F on the 'Midland Line' heading for Rugby, two locos on the Spittal sheds above that and a cheeky little D2 coming down one of the lines to the carriage sheds (plus another Midland interloper, Ivatt 2-6-2, just coming under Spittal bridge in the distance).
And now for some steam porn - Caledonia Works gorgeous A3 in LNER form waiting at Cambridge station. The 'Northlight' roof of the engine shed in the background and a good view of the unique signalling arrangements that helped make Cambridge's long, single platform arrangement work:
An 87 makes its way towards Preston on a cold crisp clear night, illuminating a nearby bush with a flash from the pantograph. AP87 WCML Over Shap
Set up a QD with this vR DB BR218 & 3Dzug tank set up but later on realised it was not such a good idea. All was good till we hit the 19:0 incline which resulted in a complete stall and going nowhere fast. Re-ran scenario with a double headed 218 setup and all was good. Note to self - check the power to weight ratio before setting off LOL. (consist still looks good though)

Time to cooperate! Three shots from my recent weekly offerings. First, a scene from Fort Kent to Eagle Lake with these guys eagerly waiting lunchtime, or its end. Or maybe they're waiting for some building material to dry. Or.
Third and last, mood of the season. This is from scenario GWD243, first of two parts running the length of New York to New Haven (the other is GWD251) with a good mix of AI. The approaching train is a MTA Metro-North McGinnis New Haven liveried EMD FL9 (yes, I wanted to be a cheeky smartiepants listing all that) with Shoreliner III coaches, while the departing one is a Kawasaki M8 (also MTA Metro North).
My apologies to you all for my lateness in posting, has just been one of those weeks (I need to pack up work, it is starting to interfere with TSC) With the usual class 47 being used for a special between Bury St. Edmunds & Great Yarmouth for 'Greene King', BR large logo liveried 50050 has been drafted in to haul a scratch set of 3 mk2s between Norwich & Great Yarmouth. This worked one return trip in the morning and then two return trips in the afternoon. Loco:- AP Class 50 , AP Class 150 Route:- AP Wherry Lines (With regards to last weeks discussions, my apologies to those of you in the community who abhor the use of AP products, Sorry but I paid for them, love them, and am proud to show them off, and this is the only comp thread where you can do just that, and long may it continue)

Thanks everyone for the submissions this week, let's get started with the results. In 3rd place, is this unique screenshot from paulc during a cold night with illumination only coming from the flash from the pantograph! Awesome! In 2nd place is this fantastic screenshot from Craigie-C, I love the incredibly unique train here with a photobombing Pannier in the background! In 1st place is malikrthr with this great screenshot of some Amtrak action in the USA! I really like the lighting and angle on the trains here, well done! I am looking forward to your theme for Week 43.
Thanks for the podium Blazin & congratulations to Craigie-C for that great shot of a GWR rail car, I've never seen one before! & finally congratulations to malikrthr for the amazing Amtrak shot! See you all in the next comp
Thank you so much Blazin for selecting my picture for this week's competition. Thank you so much PaulC. I really appreciate it. Congratulations Paulc and Cragie-C on some very cool screenshots A wonderful night shot and cool unique train along the Riviera line
malikrthr Just to clarify, it's now your turn to set up the thread It's not critical for you to post it, but the choice of theme is yours, and you are the preferred judge. It helps to announce as there are many who put extra effort into setting up new scenes, and the weekend is the best.
Cheers Blazin, thanks for your feedback it is much appreciated, as you say it is quite a unique piece of GWR kit just released by Digital Traction. Only bought it yesterday and am absolutely loving it. https://digitaltraction.co.uk/mainsite/dt-gwr-railcar-pack-1-1940s-razor-edge/ IMHO well worth the £14.99 price tag.
Just to get things going - or unjinx it - who wants to start the new thread in case malikrthr doesn't show? Craig was second, Paul third, last theme vote was in 40th week thread, Double Headers, or it could be Freestyle. Bit of a bummer, it's the second time we have a non-regular winner abandon their right to post a thread Would it help if the OP would simply include the theme, deadline and this dynamic (winner doing next week)?
Good Afternoon Triznya.andras, thanks for clarifying how the unnoficial screenshot competition creation works. I just posted my 1st competition for the unofficial screenshot competition. The theme for week 43 is commuter rail.
