I don't think you understood pretty much anything I said especially when you thought I was quoting you but I never quoted your post.

FYI, I (was forced) bought TSW3 and stated so on another thread so let's not act like I'm staying on TSW2 forever.

If you can't engage with me respectfully as I have always done with you based on what you know, let's end the discussion we're having with this post.

Can't say you were forced. You weren't exactly held at gunpoint or something. No one said you had to buy it.

It was either that or nothing. TSW3 was taken out of the store and I have said here (on another thread) I want to play it eventually.

  4. Total proposition of belief ramble alert.

Tsw 3 without dlc is an empty shell. It's the dlc that make it what it is, and the dlc for tsw3 can be operated as tsw4. Its just a label. Its the dlc that individually have new functionality, features or coding catastrophes, under the commonality of the label that is provided for demarcation purposes. It's highly modular, and an ongoing evolution. It might be helpful to instead think of them all as TSW1.1 TSW1 2 TSW1.3 and now TSW1 4, with the exception that 1.1-1.3 cannot be updated because of the highly fragmented nature of the product.
TSW4 is just another iteration of the same thing with certain evolutionary features added in as the dtg team learn the process. Backporting that learning isn't possible, and so the product is instead a long trajectory of evolution and will never reach a state of completion.

This is why I'm not buying in to any more iterations anytime soon, but instead choosing to enjoy what I have. I'll buy in once its reached a point in its evolution where I think it needs to be for my personal entry point. In the meantime there's other products and genres that I find less irritating and so can enjoy more. I think the level of significant buyers regret on show over the last month is all the justification I need, and that is not to detract from those who find it acceptable. We all have different benchmarks.

    Rambling musing over.

"We couldn't be bothered to release the patches we promised for three games each time we launched a new one, because we'd like to be able to get McDonald's for the office and the budget doesn't stretch for that."

If you wait long enough, you don't have to do any work...I mean if you had a get out of jail card like that would you even bother starting to make any fixes to previous versions?

Same. Currently stuck to TSW3 and I am enjoying routes like Ruhr-Sieg Nord instead. Scenery is just as good if not better than current routes we have and all the loco DLCs for the route (DB BR 155 and DB BR 363) make it feel alive and great.

There is just no point in buying the new stuff when it's all lacking of variety due to limited rolling stock and full of issues. Wait a year or two for fixes and potential locomotive add-ons and it will be a much better experience. I used to be hyped about new releases in the past, but nowdays I don't feel like beta testing anymore.
