Possibly already posted somewhere. But just to share with those who enjoy this kind of animation. Quite nicely done.
An excellent video. I'm suprised he chose to use a big boy, it must have taken ages to model. I see he's done a diesel-electric locomotive version too. Well worth watching.
Glad you like it. AnimaGraffs has quite a few awesome 3D animations on YT. Planes, trains, ships, boats, cars, tanks, watches .......... you name it. All very carefully modelled and narrated. Now, that "Big Boy" is indeed something else. What a complex machine! My deepest respect to the elder engineers who had to develop complex functional specs all mechanically. OMG! And I was trying to imagine how you´d maintain the beast´s systems to keep them running smoothly.
This is absolutely amazing, both the documentary and the Big Boy. This engine is the sum of more than a hundred years of engineering knowledge and innovations. There's nothing more impressive to me than pure mechanics working together to create this power from coal and water. Superb video, thanks Pipe!
This is the best and most thorough explanation of how a steam locomotive functions that I have ever seen. Every other video I’ve watched, there’s been something I disagree with or that they simply got so wrong. Not the case for this video. Everything was accurate. geometry dash subzero
Right on spot. I´ve learnt a lot from that animation. This kind of engineering never ceases to amaze me. Woah ... Here´s the real one in action:
