I am currently running class 66 service 6E70 and when I got to the first stopping point, Claypole Down Passenger Loop, after all was said and done, it wanted me to wait until 08.51, which was 45 minutes from when I got this last wait. OK, this is railroading, so I went off and did some things. When I came back, I still had 25 minutes left on the wait, so, I went outside to look around. Well noticed that my last car was blocking a level crossing, and I had enough room between where I stopped and the signal to clear it up. I had stopped about 5 yards from the stop point, which was not enough to clear the crossing even if I had gone to the 0 point . Well, moved the train ahead far enough to clear the crossing. Now, the interesting part, this caused the info in the upper left to go from wait until 08.51 to stop at location in Doncaster. About a minute later an 801 blasted by me and once it cleared the block, I got a favorable signal and pulled out onto the main, 20 minutes ahead of when I should have.
Oh, I am expecting that to happen. Again, just let the game run and go do something else until it finishes.
Honestly love this. It's not for everyone (and not me every run), but i like that they sprinkle them in. Does the duration in the service description seem match up to the actual duration of the run? That's all i ask, DTG, lol
It's based on how long it would take the AI to do the run during the simulation. I think it's meant as a guide rather than a time limit sort of thing.
I actually checked and it has the duration at 2h50m, so at least the player knows it's a long one. Appreciate the reply!
I usually make them two parts if they wait longer than 15 minutes but I guess I missed this one. Good to know some people enjoy it at least!
I had a similar experience but the wait until 08.51 stayed on the screen for only around one second before changing to the next instruction, so I only had to wait for the one train to pass before I was cleared back onto the main line. As I continued the journey I noticed on the map I was causing heavy delays to two 801 services who were crawling behind me for a long time once they had caught up to me. Another thing worth mentioning here is that I did ignore some of the given speed limits in the HUD and drove only to the speed signs on the track signage and had arrived at the siding around an hour before 08.51. I was ignoring the two thirds rule for freight speed limits in an attempt to save a bit of time on the 2.50 time the service estimate showed but it worked a little too well!
I just tried this service and when I arrived at Doncaster I got the WAIT message. I thought it was telling me to wait until 08:51, which was about 3 minutes away. But when 08:51 came and went I realized I had misread it and its telling me wait until 09:51. I'm assuming thats some kind of error? When I ran this service I loaded a save a couple of times, maybe a savegame issue? Anyone else get asked to wait an hour at the end of 6E70? DW
Blooming heck. And to think I worried about asking people to wait 10 minutes at the start of my latest scenario
