Add these routes: Kings Cross-Peterborough Extend Peterborough-Doncaster to York York-Newcastle Newcastle-Edinburgh
Hmmm. KX-Peterborough: basically just another GWE. Peterborough-Doncaster, while disappointing, is something at least. Don't get hopes up about an extension. York-Newcastle is the same as Peterborough-Doncaster (same number of statuons, slightly different service pattern), and mostly flat (I think?). Newcastle-Edinburgh is over 100 miles so won't happen anytime soon.
So what, I don’t understand people that say this stuff, if we want to get into semantics then every route is basically every other route.
Add a Class 55 Deltic, Mallard/LNER A4, LNER V2, and some new freight power: Class 69, Class 67, and Class 70.
If it were up to me it would be an extension to to York and Newcastle. Or a separate route from Newcastle to Edinburgh with branch lined and scotrail stock+ new operator. or another separate route from Edinburgh to Aberdeen with both ScotRail and LNER stock.
I don't understand how, with current PC power and current gen of xbox X/Ps5 we *can't* expect a 100mile route? Like, aren't we a bit past 3p-60miles now?
Because, in other people's words: "I don't have the time to do a run for two hours." That seems to be the problem I think. Also not everyone has the most up to date Pc/console so performance would be an issue with larger routes.
Well 100 miles is still 100 miles. Imagine having to model all the assets for 100 miles or even driving a hundred miles. Lidar and autogen can only do so much before the developers have to manually place each asset and build each station. They've also got deadlines and they are a business so they can't spend forever on one project. Before you try to make a counterargument, dtg does not have the budget or resources or staffing to be like asobo studios who made msfs
At the end of the day, 100 miles has been proven to be within the realm of doable, it would take time yes, but it is doable.
