Likely the TL11 with gears as they were only a year old in 1986. Voith transmission was a later modification.

    Hi

    I have just one question.

I heard that the Class 101 DMU included in the Tees Valley Line route will be used as additional playable services in the upcoming Blackpool Branches route. However, I have a concern regarding the Class 101 DMU (included in the TVL route and NTP route) when controlled by AI in that they operate without turning on the saloon lights.

Will I be able to see AI-controlled Class 101 DMUs on the side track operating with their saloon lights on when I'm driving my own train? I hope that this issue will be well addressed and fixed in the upcoming Blackpool Branches route to enhance the realism of the driving experience even further.

Another question for me as "no Hud only" driver. Are there any speed signes placed like in NTP or TVL?

    Screenshot_20231105-140259_Chrome.jpg
I can immagine in the late 80s probably the ones in the pics are still used mostly.

Also, are you guys sure you’re using the correct 101? Since this route is in the north west shouldn’t the region it’s from also reflect that? Shouldn’t say M rather than E on the car body like it did in NTP? upload_2023-11-5_13-24-3.jpeg

will the owners of this route get railtour services from Blackpool Ormsirk to BCC ECW Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk High and SEHS or is it still the old Huddersfield Line NTP version is required for it. Speaking of the Class 142 can it combine with 150/2 Cornish Main Line and 158 MML due to them having BSI couplers or not?

Probably the most excited for this route than any other route in the game.

In That case I will be buying direct from JT as I already have £1.05 in reward points from years ago, so this will add to my running total for the future considering that this will not be the last TSW addon to come from the guys at JT :)

One further question to anyone from DTG on the stream.

This route will be an ideal one for chaining services or just trying to remain in the persistent world between play sessions. However, at the moment that is still impossible due to the save game continuing to not save or reload correctly the objective data for the current train you are driving on a run subsequent to the first one.

This issue was ignored in the build up to TSW4 and frankly seems to have gone in the too difficult bin. Can someone from DTG or if need be brief JT state clearly as to where the matter currently stands, please?

In terms of questions relating to backporting layers/enabling layers from the Blackpool Branches route onto older, Compatible content - as far as I'm aware, no current plans (as with other TSW4 current content backporting layers).

As of TSW4 this is not just affecting save games but also taking over certain services on foot. I highlighted it in the ECML feedback thread (and Jan both acknowledged and was able to replicate the issue) but no fix yet as far as I can tell.

Could we get some feedback on this from DTG please?

As you’re active in the thread JD, could you kindly address my question a few posts above about ongoing save game issues preventing chaining or doing a full driver’s shift over several sessions? Thank you.

Edit: And as mattwild55 also just posted the problem has spread further.

Will the Pacer have the new suspension system added to it? Considering the reputation of the train to bounce, seems like it would be a massive missed opportunity to not have it added.

It will have it implemented, yes. As it's a simpler loco to do so (no air suspension/bogies), it's worth thinking about it as the next 'stage' of the suspension improvements project from the 323 available in the Training Center (more info on this in relation to Suspension Improvements more generally will be available on the Roadmap article coming tomorrow).

There should be a fair amount of bounce though!

Awesome, fantastic news. If there is any train in the game that needed the suspension, it was this one. Great to hear!

    It has both.
JT confirmed it a while back.
"So players can use the soundset they prefer and also to allow the Pacer to be added onto newer routes with LD"

Will the new rain effects on windscreens be applied to the 3 locos on this route?

In the preview stream, can you please show us a minute or two of video from inside one of the signal boxes?

That's 3 different units. Even if they look similar, there's still a lot of differences so it takes as much time as it does to make a standard loco dlc.

    From the steam store page:
    "Multiple engine and transmission variants; Leyland TL11 + SCG RRE5, Leyland TL11 + Voith T211r and Cummins LTA10-R + Voith T211r"

So the 142 for TSW is basically the AP 142 2.0 for TSC then if it has all 3 combinations of engines and gearboxes.

It's another reason I'm hyped for this route.
Only the "Leyland TL11 + SCG RRE5" option was actually needed for this route. But they went above and beyond to make sure the pacer can be used during any period.

I agree. It's been future proofed.
I can't wait to get behind the controls in TSW. I've been playing the 6 scenarios that came with the AP one for TSC and I love it.
I hope they've done the LTA10-r and Voith T211r engine justice. I know what they sound like as I'm around them very often.

143’s never ran in the North West (AFAIK), certainly never to Blackpool and the 144’s were specifically built for West Yorkshire local services.

Will the destinations on the Pacer be dynamic? (getting them from the route?)

Unlikely, as they were fitted with roller displays, apart from the few refurbished in MerseyTravel livery which gained electronic displays.

Hi my question for the just trains team is this how complex was it to create the physics/multiple soundsets for the class 142 pacer and what did this process look like and involve to get it to where you wanted it to be ?

It'll substitute into WCL, but I don't believe it will for the others.

Do freight timings make use of proper freight speed limits? For example using the SOS mineral wagons which have no brakes so were run at lower speeds?

I prefer to run at real speeds as opposed to line speed for the realism :)

NTP is set before the Pacers were introduced. It layers into WCL as a happy accident, though not sure if it will use the right engine variant for the 90s. As for TVL it doesn't as JD said, but it really should.

Would certainly spice TVL up a bit, I guess we can create a new timetable on PC with it now at least?

It probably won't be long before somebody does. Console players are out of luck on that front though, but maybe either DTG or this new SimTrack will make it happen. SimTrack seems to be all about improving content we already have, with the heritage livery on BCC and the mention of 'a splash of BR Green' which I can only assume means a green 45 for Peak Forest.

True it should layer on to TVL seeing as the pacer where the main train along side the 156 and the 158.

Pacers still ran on that line right up until withdrawl around 2019 or 2020 I think, you can even still see one in Saltburn on Google street view.

Will there be any add-on packs for this route in the future?.

I will say that the attention detail to this route is staggering, the sounds, the dynamics, the overall feel of the route, this is by far the best route I have ever seen for TSW. Well done Just Trains, you have raised the bar on what can be achieved.
