    I’ve voted YES.

But I’m not holding my breath. I reckon pigs will fly before that ever happens. Rivet are not known for updating their releases.

"Publicly available" does not mean "copyright-free".

Surely not a million miles away if they have the license for ScotRail’s branding? Just curious…

That depends on what the contract between ScotRail and the voice actor for the announcements is.

Licensing isn't a "you have our brand, so you can do whatever you want."

When it comes to announcements, it really depends on what agreements are in place with the person who's voice is used, the licensing agreement with DTG, and the copyright status of the audio itself.

As ScotRail's license is publically available and open to use - even commercially - by anyone (as long as guidelines are met), the process is very different than it is for any other TOC or UK-Gov franchise, because Transport Scotland make it open-use.

So, low chance, I think, that dovetail and ScotRail really talked announcements when getting a deal made - least not back in 2021 when nobody imagined announcements in TSW would actually become a real thing.

Personally I think ScotRail Express has a few other issues what need seeing to at a higher priority than correct human voices.

first things should be working before refining others.

The Class 314 never had recorded announcements - it was still done by the driver, even at retirement.
For the authentic class 314 experience: Mumble the announcements so you can only just about hear them!

I don’t care unless they make it easier to use. JT’s version just involves pressing G or clicking on the phone. That’s more my level. :D

If they even bothered to announce them that is. Most drivers I spoke to who were signed on the 314s knew how bad the onboard speakers were or simply never bothered because of how close stations were to one another. :D
