Google does not charge you for it as they provide a credit of about 260€ to every new (free) account. And even Matt said that for DTG's route creators themselves, he thinks they never got even close to that this credit has been emptied. However, Google just wants to be sure that they could charge you (if the use of the Maps goes into a way more professional use for websites) and you need to provide your credit card informaton that they therefore give you a 0,00€ charge just as a test.
And NO, Basis Creditcards(Mastercard Prepaid) are not Accepted. and on Germany, you only get a Creditcard if you have a, aemployment contract in permanent position/permanent employment
I've had no trouble getting it working with a Visa Debit card which you get when opening a bank account with some banks in Germany, no need for a credit card/employment.
I have a Mastercard Debit card and google say, there dont Accept it,because its prepaid. Or do i need to change the Mastercard to a Visacard. On opening my Bankaccount, i get a EC card with the MAESTRO function there are no longer supportet. New EC Cards dont have MAESTRO.
Mastercard or visa should make no difference, but my debit card is tied to my bank account, not prepaid. Some banks no longer issue EC cards but give you a Visa/Mastercard debit card instead, that's what happened in my case.
