Agreed. I left off Snowrunner at a critical point of one of the Scandinavia contract missions (the one where you have to drag an aircraft fuselage virtually the length of both maps) and was expecting after a cursory glance at BPO I'd be back on it. Wrong! Can't wait to get upstairs after tea and finish up my Journey run from Ormskirk to Preston with the 142. After that, well this is the first route where I've just been tempted to actually drop in on foot at Blackpool North or Preston and take the lucky dip on what turns up. North Wales Coast please, as I said earlier!
Loving the route, but happened to pick my first timetable service as 2F11 (i think) having a 20 minute wait at preston isn't my idea of fun though. My only comment, not sure if its just me, but some of the older twin platform stations on the south branch look alittle close together to have been dual tracked? or was the gap between trains uncomfortably close?
I have been having a few Red Light issues unfortunately. Trying to work out where or why they are occurring but not entirely sure...... it seems one of the common denominators may be the 08's shunting activities.
Like others, I was a bit disappointed that the Pacer doesn't support RailDriver (yet), but I bought it on day one anyway and am very pleased with it. 1986 is very much my era! I've dug out my Xbox Controller for when driving the Pacer, and loving the haptic feedback. I might even keep using that even after RD support is added
What West Cornwall gives to the schedule on this route? I'm interested, because I have all optionaly required DLCs except one.
Class 31 services with the Seacow wagons. I did read that the Rail Freight Class 37 from the route will spawn as AI only but I have yet to see it.
The route is absolutely wonderful – I'm usually not a great fan of UK content but this is great fun. One issue: on 6P30 Stanlow to Burn Naze, the stopping marker at Salwick Outbound Goods Loop is extremely close to the signal and the tolerance seems to be very low. I only got it to accept my stopping point at the third try and it was quite nerve-wracking inching closer to the red signal. Please move that marker or allow for a larger stopping tolerance. Don't know if any other services are affected as I've only tried this one freight train yet. Super happy to see that the freight trains aren't just nonstop A to B runs through.
Regret to have to report massive PC crash approaching Preston from Ormskirk, just after joining the WCML and entering the 75MPH section. Black screen and buzzing from the speakers. Not recoverable to desktop had to hard reboot with the case button to get out of it. PC restart then showed Windows rebuilding some, presumably damaged, files. Not sure if it’s the core or route which did that but that ain’t good.
Loving the route so far, working much better than many from day 1 on the PS5. Did come across some minor issues with the 47 sound from inside the cab being distorted (could be my setup). I found an unliveried class 40 stabled in Preston and on 1st try of a 40 found a slight delay in the response of the power control ie you press the controller for up nothing happens then you do it again and it shoots up, same going down. Pacer seems fantastic although never seen one in real life
I've tried playing as a guard on the pacer but the AI always overrides it. Does anyone know how to sort this?
Just awesome, the detail is incredible, so many custom objects bring this sim to a new level. The Pacer is so immersive to drive, the route and DMU work so well with each other. The only niggle I have is with one signal, PN56, Farington Curve Junction, routing from Preston to Ormskirk. In the sim I believe the approach control to be insufficient for a slow speed turnout (75 to 30/20 mph), we have only a double yellow to a yellow with feather. I would have thought it to be approach released from red (double yellow, single yellow then red to release). However, maybe back then this may have been different, unsure really. If it was as depicted in the sim then fair play.
What do you mean? If you're driving the AI does the buzzes for you. If you're spawning from foot there is no way to do door duties on an AI train yourself
The mastery tracking is bugged. I've done the 'Blackpool illuminations' scenario, yet it's saying I haven't. I know this is likely a DTG issue, but thought I'd mention it
Audio "clicking" on the class 47, same bug that's been present on the NTP version for a while now. Other than that, awesome route in scenery detail and in variety of gameplay! The 142 definitely steals the show Platform: Xbox Seires X
have you tried clicking into it and back out about 2-3 times, for some strange reason it doesn’t come up for me with mastery when I have a look at progress, especially after a game load up.
Yep. It's weird, it did show once yesterday, but no matter how much I try, it won't show as completed now
I got a crash when approaching Preston from Ormskirk but I did get the Unreal error screen. Have you tried the same run again to see if it works?
Hi! Just had time to play a little with this new route. The pacer is cool. But this being the 80s i miss PIS on the platforms. Is there a way to find out when the next train is due and to where? Second question. All other trains seem to have door buttons, but I can’t find any in the pacer. Did they always have a guard for this? Shortcut keys/controller work. And also it’s almost too realistic having to fidget with the lock and cover to get the doors open.
Most stations have the big yellow TV P.I.S systems, but they'll be under the canopies or in waiting rooms/ station buildings. Door buttons in cab? No, they don't exist and were always guard operated, I believe.
No, as I said that would take me past the two hour refund window so going to sit on it for a couple of days and see what develops.
Just did a first run into Preston, worked ok but this was on the last Ormskirk to Preston. Issues so far: When spawning at Preston at 1600 the 1609 Ormskirk appears to be stuck at a red just after Salwick although it may have SPAD no obvious cause. Pacer acceleration, is this correct? put it into 7 on the power and watch it go. 20:30 Circa 08 is due out of Siding for shunting as a 47 runs round, they end up mexican standoff. Other than the above this DLC is very good and raises the bar.
Just one ticket to log. Service 6P32, Preston Shunting 8pm This service derails on loading as the last Seacow wagon in placed on the buffer stop in the siding. I spawned on foot and watched the AI start the service no problem. I then took over the service as it stopped in Preston and completed the run around myself.
I was wondering why you would do the token exchange at Midge Hall when it is single track each way? I Here is an interesting bit of info about the token at Midge Hill- https://www.simsig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/33943?postId=35286 I know I have said it before but it would be good to be the guard as well.
I think it has to be a core issue because I experienced something similar on Series X last week. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/crashes.74073/page-8#post-748828 Fortunately it's only ever happened once though so I'm not unduly concerned.
Only major stations like Preston, Blackpool, Ormskirk, etc have PIS. The door control are locked behind a cabinet above the front doors, but to unlock and use them you need to unlock the controls using the lock behind the cab door
I can't upload my livery I made for the class 142. Is it one of the "forbidden" trains like the G6, ICE 3, and RABe 523?
Please everyone, go to Freeroam, spawn your Pacer and slowly explore that route. There is a crazy amount of detail in there. A true labour of love, it shows. Drive, stop, walk around, explore, drive on. Again - thank you Just Trains!
Put me in the “awesome route” camp. Congrats to JT on a job well done. Even from the perspective of a US rail guy, this is honestly one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had on here. Feels immersive as everything seems era appropriate. Suspension makes for a cool driving experience. There was a lot of attention paid to details. Announcements are a great touch and are implemented well.
I'm still in the early stages and I've seen nothing but positive feedback from others. However, coming from NYT with all the issues especially with passengers, I've noticed right away the passenger system seems to be broken. In 3 services that I completed not once did I see any passengers get off. They seemed to vanish when the doors open. The passengers do seem to board, but that's if I wait longer than after it says to close the doors. below are some captured videos for reference. I've also put a ticket in. I know is probably a core issue but I least is logged
I wasn’t convinced at first from the stream and initial video. But acceleration seems spot on to me to be honest! I’ve done quite a few runs on the Pacer and it does seem realistic. Even going straight into Notch 5 you don’t zoom off. In reality you shouldn’t slam into Notch 7 anyway, unless you’re a Lime Street driver
How do you get the 31 on these services please? Becasue they only appear to work on the class 47. They don't appear in the 31 list of services available. Thank you in advance.
100% and dovetail keep thinking its not a issue witch in fact is a major issue im so sick of passangers standing on platforms not getting onto trains passangers coming off the train at the start of services when leaving them empty from most trips more so the high speed ones and them coming off trains and standing in front of the doors all issues that need to be looked at and fixed once and for all
Created an account because I had to post feedback - this is a fantastic route. Have been playing since TSW2 and this is hands down the most detailed and well made route I’ve played. Despite reading a lot of the feedback here, when you first play it you will be blown away by all of the little new details (or at least I was!) - from the guard whistles as the doors close, the beautiful sound of the carriages starting to move, the new smoke from the locos, the sheer variety of trains you see and the mix of different routes - brilliant. Up there with SEHS as best routes in TSW. I’d also add that JT are helping the franchise with a game like this - I spent another £30 straight away buying all of the layers! Class 20,31 and HFP - all completely worth it to see the route even more alive
Interesting… kind of debunks all the people shouting down my hardware (reminds me of N3V’s stance when the first version of Trainz New Era was over stressing hardware, blaming cat hairs in the fan). Wonder if this was something introduced with the last patch? The strange thing is, you can spawn at Preston or start a run there and the area loads fine. You can run into Preston from Blackpool and no issues. Those of us who have had the issue has been approaching from the Ormskirk direction. It has been suggested to me privately I give DX12 a shot but two issues with that - 1. Last time I tried DX12 in TSW4 it was causing gauges, dials and some AI trains to render blurry. 2. The same issue of losing the refund window if I do anymore testing. And of course the concern too if it is a core issue, the fixes may be a long time coming if ever.
What happens when you buy it direct? Do you get sent a key to activate on steam or the old fashioned way of installing via JT's installer? Just thinking of future updates. Would prefer steam to update everything instead of downloading patches elsewhere
I haven’t spent many Microsoft Rewards Points lately (apart from the 10,500 per month to keep Game Pass going) and have accumulated £20s worth so managed to pick up this route for a tenner. I haven’t had much chance to play it yet but from what I have seen spawning on stations on foot, the detail is incredible. I particularly like the building site on St Annes on Sea Station with the filthy disused toilet . I’m hoping to get a drive later (the train, not the toilet).
