Question 1, Will DTG ever go to Australia ? Never say never, no public plans

Question 2, will an Australian dev be made ? That’s more a question for Australian developers not DTG, it’s not just Australian developers who can make Australian routes though, any can it’s just whether they will, all answer are never say never but no public plans.

It’s not, generally I think rates near the top for new country’s (though that list is technically about 200 long)

That also describes so many American routes though.

have fun with it. Although you will have to much much more to create a route, train, timetable, scenarios and tutorials.

Dtg are a big proponent of Australian routes coming to tsw. They said in a part of a stream. However, the main issue is licensing.

I don't think it's financially viable for DTG to send a team to Australia ATM to gather data to make a route set in Australia. They barely send teams to do research on American routes.

I think flight costs aren’t a major factor :D very minor factor, they just aren’t going to Australia right now the same way they ain’t going to Vietnam, cause they ain’t doing outside the “big 3”

It isnt just flights, you have to factor in everything else
-Licensing fees with a new operator (If they can find one willing to work with them)
-Days spent in country collecting research
-Potential return on the route and whether there is enough interest to do one in the 1st place.

-Licensing costs for Australia will be similar/same to any other country
-Australian companies will say yes/no the same as American or any other
-Days spent is similar/same to any other country trip
-potential returns is similar with any other route, some sell under, some sell at expected, others sell better.

All those factors are same/similar as any trip to USA

If that's the case then DTG should drop the US for Australia then.

Why would they do that ?

just because a trip to Australia wouldn’t be any more/not much more a burden than any other doesn’t mean they’d instantly drop one of the “Big 3”

License fees are decided by operators, not based on the country their in. Australian Operators could all decide to charge Dovetail a premium for their license (especially as, being TSW's first official Australian route, it would likely be very popular with players in Australia, the rest of Oceania, and across the world).
Not really. In Australia, DTG would have to survey a lot more than they would have to if they visited, say, Wales. Safety Systems, Signalling Systems, Scenery features (i.e. foliage and buildings) and such variate between every country. Whilst Australia has similarities with Britain and America, there are still differences that need to be understood.
This applies to any new country in the game.

exactly as I was saying, theirs next to no differences in Australia what you wouldn’t find in other countries when it comes to Survey trips.

every country has differences but each has differences so becomes pretty similar.

Australia is no more or less likely to charge “premium fees” the same way the US was.
