Hey, I just wanted to chime in here. I'm really impressed by everything I've seen in this thread and seemingly hundreds of mods already, which seem to be ready to release... If it wasn't for the editor not being able to "cook" things and package them to actually release the stuff. So... DTG, wouldn't it finally be time to update the editor to make that possible, no? I've heard of the workaround there is, but it seems like its too complicated or there are other reasons as nobody uses it. I mean to be honest, isn't it funny enough already that the editor (even as a Beta) was released without this kind of little important feature? Would be refreshing to see some of the expansion packs and bugfixes released as mods, as DTG can't be bothered with many of those fixes lol
we got files disappearing we got cooking missing we got uhh the workaround for cooking has some issues with materials if I understood it correct, and it's too complex for me anyways sooo... factual
I've been cooking my timetable fine with the community edits. Just takes like 20 minutes to setup and you're good.
You mean the editor improvements which are 4-6 months out? And don't explicitly mention if the cooking will be fixed? No, thanks.
did you know the roadmap is not just one little image https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...ticle/train-sim-world-4-roadmap-december-2023 quote from the article: PC Editor We want to share again that our ambassador Matin, Aka TrainSimPlay has created a public TSW Editor Documentation spreadsheet, which has links to all of our official resources, a huge range of community resources, and plenty of tutorials/guides all in one place! They’ve labelled each section into different topics (Route building, Scenarios, Timetables etc) and so far have over 76 pages worth of documentation / support! We are still working towards improvements for the Editor, and continuing to learn from the community and our third-party developers for what they need most. As mentioned in our last roadmap, the changes we currently we have a focus on will be: - Ability to package files for distribution (.pak files) <--(!!!!!!!) - Landscape material usage - Rediscovery of files when re-loading the Editor read it before assuming it doesnt talk about it
Not sure that says what you think it does. Saying it's an area they are focused on does not make an promise it will be done anytime soon. IMO, you're reading things that aren't there. I've seen DTG overpromise and underdeliver enough to take snippets like that from a roadmap with a large pinch of salt.
Moron, don't worry I know that its more than just an imagine. The question still remains, 4-6 months out? Its a slap to the face for anyone who was looking forward to using community made content. This would mean at the earliest in March we'll see community made content made public. That'd be basically at least half a year since the release of TSW4/ the editor. Not having that feature from the get go is bad enough but this is just laughable. And I wouldn't hold my breath that they deliver instantly when the time comes.
