Having bought the Amtrak E60 by REPPO I notice the braking system on this loco seems to work backward to the way its done in Europe.

Normally you have to charge the brake pipe to 72.5 psi / 5 Bar to release the train brakes
On the E60 the Brake Pipe Pressure shows 0 psi with the Brakes Off and increases as you apply the brakes.

Is this a quirk of US locos or is the model, by Reppo, wrong?
Screenshot_1 - Test Centre_51.11324-6.20595_12-06-54.jpg Trains is doing 70 ish mph but the Red Brake Pipe shows 0 psi.

Brakes are Off and the Train Pipe - Red Center shows 0 Psi

I suspect that the needles on the centre gauge are 'connected' wrongly. The white needle is actually showing the brake pipe pressure, typically 70 to 90 psi for US freight trains IIRC, and the red needle the brake cylinder pressure at zero which you'd expect with the brakes released.

Yes, the gauges are wrong. Middle gauge white needle is BP, red is BC. I wouldn't have noticed as I instantly assume 90 is brakepipe and cylinders are empty when released... :) So it's correct but the needles are swapped.

Thanks for that - I know what to look at when driving the loco :)
I wonder if I could change the colours?

You could try changing the needles' assignment in the engine.bin file.
I don't own this DLC yet, though it is supposed to be excellent otherwise.
There also is an enhancement pack to the 'battleship', perhaps the gauges are already corrected therein?

    from this clip:

Schnauz announced another E60P enhancement pack from Searchlight Simulations, which hasn't materialised yet?

also, you might want to check if the trucks turn the right way when the engine goes through curves, on some models the motion seems to be wrong

I think changing the needles assignment in the bin file might be beyond what I know how to do.
I noticed in the video the incorrect gauge needles have had their description changed which will do for now.

I will get this patch and see how it performs.

    Thanks

Doesn't appear the prototypes even had red needles. There is part of an original E60CP operator's manual here http://gg1bob.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4392015 shows white needles only.

I did a quick search on bing images, and the few pics found all white needles only.

I didn't dig too deep but maybe other railroads had them?

Except the picture is in Black and White and when both needles in a gauge are at 0 one hides behind the other.

Reading page 26 from the same manual it mentions the loco gauge is Red and the Brake Pipe is White - same as the model
