I’m just wondering as it’s not a loco that I own, basically where/which routes does the Class 33 loco layer into/substitute in ?
The SEHS class 33 services will only work if you have Spirit of Steam and Northern Transpennine as they use the coaches from those dlcs
I remember seeing it on the back of a steam excursion on the backerloo line as a.i service between queens park & harrow. I spawn the 33 a lot with the free roam tools because its rarely used by dtg. Its just fun thrashing around with. The superb 33 still needs some work: - a new livery (the current is from wsr) - jumper cable for mu working (not existent) - main reservoir hose and el. Trainheating doesnt get connected when coupling with locos / coaches. Sadly dtg developed a very complex brakesystem and forget the simplest thing when it comes to hose connection. (This on all uk vehicles!) The yellow main res hose always needs to be connected in vac / air condition, also when connecting loco to wsgon / coach.
Yea I have those 3 routes mentioned, I just don’t use WSR very much so never picked up the 33 or 52 variant. I think I will wait and see if it will go anywhere else in future as 8+WSR doesn’t sound to much for me and pick something in the current sale instead. Thanks for the help.
I highly recommend to get both the 52 & 33. If you are on tsw4, just build your own consist and drive your services tours with the free roam tool in the middle of the 24h timetable. I noticed the dispatcher can handle it rather good
Found my post from the bakerloo railtour. I made it back in tsw3, where placing stock was not possible. The steam tour must be after 11.00 to 11.30 The consist was done with a lot of effort, but allowed to drive from wembley central down to queens park. Took 2-3 hours, what is possible now in 5 minutes with the new free roam tools. My favourite feature of tsw4.
The 33 appears as AI on Glossop as well, can be found parked up at Manchester Piccadilly at certain times.
Slightly OT but always think it’s a shame DTG never did a dedicated period route for the Crompton. Either part of Bristol to Portsmouth or a section of Salisbury to Exeter would have been great.
