In additon to launching a 318 pack this is also something being worked on. I wonder what this enhancement pack will contain? Fair play to the AP team, they are definitely in a creative surge at the moment!

For me, they are single-handedly keeping this Simulator alive. I'm looking forward to see what part of the game will be enhanced (foliage maybe?)

I presume a general pack contains models of high ranking soldiers to put in carriages and on platforms.

Personally I can't see much demand for that.

Can anyone post the contents of the last AP newsletter please? Despite re subscribing, I didn’t get it and I can’t find it anywhere online.

I'd guess either foliage or catenary

Foliage looks more likely to me. Those tree models don't exist in vanilla Suburban Glasgow.

If it's foliage that will be worth having as some of it, on some routes is terrible.

An AP foliage pack would have the benefit of helping to standardise vegetation DLC dependencies. It also has the advantage (to AP) of potentially big sales to those with non-UK interests.

Does it replace OHLE? That may cause an issue with routes that need the ATS version... so I hope not.

If it did it'd probably only replace the Kuju/DTG OHLE so I can't see it causing issue with the ATS OHLE as that's a separate standalone set that has to be installed manually i.e. it doesn't replace/overwrite the Kuju/DTG LOVE, I still think it's most likely just a foliage EP though, but I would be very happy if it replaced both the foliage AND the stock OHLE.

Aaand.. That's pretty much the kick up the arris this game has needed for many years now..

the trifecta of APSWEP + APTEP + APSEP has just gone four dimensional with the addition of the AP Veg pack (and not a zitty, nasally bespectacled, station dweller in sight)

I genuinely can't wait for Pookeyhead to post some screenshots, take that TSWers!

I should imagine it is, I'm pretty sure the WL uses stock foliage, and as this replaces all stock foliage then....

    My initial thoughts are:
    • too expensive for foliage
    • how do they manage "No ‘popping’ effect as you move closer/further away from the assets" ? set everything to 10? global?
    • auto replacements of the DTG route assets - by using the same p/p and filename?
BUT..Having looked at the screenshots they DO look rather nice - and if they are a name-for-name drop-in for the DTG assests then I could get them myself while users who don't splurge the 15squid stil get the DTG 3D assets instead.

    Can anyone supply any info?

That route needs much more love and attention it is one of my favourites.
With the AP track and sky and now this. Why wouldn’t scenario creators want to do content for this.

Couldn't agree more, it was on of my firsts routes purchased for TS, and like yourself it has been a "go back to" for years.
With the latest AP Track, Weather/Cloud, Class 142 and now veg upgrades I can see me using this route so much more in the future.

I'll probably pick it up because this will likely have a big impact on how good SOME routes look. Though I'm disappointed that only some first party UK routes are supported and none of the German routes.

Just loaded into ATS's WCML Missing Link and it seems this AP pack will replace all of the DTG default foliage wherever it's used, not just on the officially supported routes. Going to test on a DTG German Route. 20231205171944_1.jpg

Will definitely be getting this. Even with reshade and other enhancements the one thing which still lets TSC down the most, in my opinion, are the trees and other greenery.

What are the spring textures like?

I fear they will be bare branches, not with blossom or budding.

I think that’s great they have done that and will show off the route and assets to people who want to see what it looks like before buying.

There has been tree replacement patches for all german routes on railsim for years for that matter.
it´s actually having some not so nice effects on german routes and ATS routes. On Pegnitztalbahn it replaces about half of Trees and leaves the other half with original DTG trees in totally different colours. Same goes for ATS Kings Cross to Kings Lynn. On the routes listed in the manual it does amazing job though! I did a drive on WCML South and it looks superb!
For everything else AP or the Community will need to make some sort of patch...

I'll have to check those patches out.

I just drove Pegnitztalbahn to see what you meant and I don't have a problem with it. Yes there is a color mismatch but in reality different species of trees are different shades and intensities of green, so if anything it makes things more realistic in my eyes.

Same, transforms the sim. The variety and quality of the foliage is superb, performance is excellent as well. I think I need to get back and route build in TS now..

I´ve played around with the new foliage on my current routebuild. In my opinion it does not mix well with other types of foliage. So I won´t be using it on my current build! But if I start a new map in the future, I will use the pack as my main staple for foliage. What I really like about it is that it does not "pop up" in the distance like other 3D foliage. It also causes no change to framerates! Also the pines and the fir trees are the best I´ve seen in TS Classic!

Those Oak trees are class as well, very realistic. We need some more variety like this is TSW, the routes are becoming a bit samey by using the same 3 types of trees.

I am using mostly the updated "vegetation2019" on my route and it seems to fit in well, the DTG vegetation is unfortunately route specific,it would be better if it was route independent like this AP pack.
